  1. Hi guys my names Alan Have been kayak fishing for 2 years now and only recently bought the new 2013 model hobie pro angler 14. I mainly fish the George's and hacking when it's in season and would love to fish with other raider who have a yak. Usually fish for bream flathead jewwies and kings. But really don't care what we're catching as long as I'm on the water. Here's a few pics. Come say hi if u see me on the water That's my 14 and Paul's 12 Will also occassinally Fish my old yak Malibu 2xl with my brother before I decide to sell it. Hopefully we have a kayak krew going out regularly on fishraider. Tight lines Alan Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  2. Hey tom I had the same problem I changed the scupper tube because the pa 12 and 14 sit a lot higher than other yaks and hence need a longer tube so it protrudes easier. Paul didn't have his changed the other day but still got it working after a few attempt . I changed mine a few days ago and now getting it to work is effortless
  3. That was fun to watch. Cheers buddy
  4. Mansion point is just round the corner if your on a boat. Sometimes mainbar is just too far to travel.
  5. This is the home page and when you click on fishraider. Very easy to surf around with now. I think tapatalk hd may be for iPad only May be wrong Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  6. I have caught many Jews and flathead and tailor at night. Never any bream though
  7. It's slightly easier to browse around than before. I would still prefer to use safari though but as for posting reports with pictures it's a breeze now. I'm too lazy to jump on a computer and transfer photos so tapatalk hd makes life easy. One thing I cannot figure out how to do with tapatalk is putting in a link without typing out the whole website. 8. Ahaha Paul u definItley love your shrimps in naturals. U drilled a whole pack today. My fav bream plastic is keitech 2.8 inch fat shad and 2in pch punknseep gulp grubs Flathead powerbait swim baits natural color 3 and 4 inch
  9. Had a blast Paul spewing I had work straight after and I only finished up now Will definitely plan something next weekend
  10. Hey Peter we might head out sometime next weekend I'll let you know when date is closer
  11. Was good to have some company today Paul. Even though the weather wasnt the best atleast we were able to get into the bream on plastics and both nailed pb's Alan
  12. They sure do. Usually around wharves with lights which are dim or street lights. I have never caught them at well lit wharves.
  13. The weather looks good for tonight no wind and swell. Just get out and try your luck I will be going early in the morning to get my pa on the water for its first time
  14. From what I hear the rareriums are not worth the price tag. Don't know much about the Freams but I know that the stradic ci4 is only good for looks . Get yourself a sustain 5000 fg or 4000fg the difference is a little big of weight and spool size. As for rod I would be using 15-25 lb rod. For kings you will need a lot of stopping power. If you want a nice rod with a cheaper price tag I would stick with the shimano range. A t curve 762 10-15kg is 2 piece and with match with the sustain 5000fg nicely
  15. Bream were caught on the turn all jewwies were caught in between tides this week. And flatties were biting the whole time. All fish caught on blades and plastics. Cheers alan
  16. Just a ill update been fishing the George's 2-3 times this week from the entrance all the way to chipping norton plenty of soapies and flatties around and cracker breams too . This is the best jewwie landed this week Tight lines Alan Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  17. Don't bother tomorrow is Saturday and there will be a lot of families swimming yakking and boats parking up on the flats for a swim and rest as well. I would advise going during the week and before the school holidays start. It's a pretty big drop off here and you wilL surely catch some flatties/ choppers
  18. A month back my tally for jewwies on plastics was only 5 this month has been producing a lot of Jews for me and honestly every Jew was almost on a different lure Just to name a few Lunker city 3.5 inch in metallic carrot Gulp minnows and jerk shads 4 in to 7 inch in camo, nuclear chicken, pearl white, lime tiger and Cajun chicken Squidgies fish 110 m color no biggie Squidgies 110 mm flick baits evil minnow Keitech 2.8inch-5inch If u have a look at these lures they are all different colors . I have noticed that the jewwies like scents usually gulps or s factor on lures that don't have scent.
  19. I have tried garfish many times for Jews both live and dead with no success not even a run but when using them live during the day for kings and other pelagics they are almost as good as live squid and by far better then yakkas and mullet. Just wondering if you can share the garfish spot with me as I'm looking everywhere for them and the only time of the year I hav success is in winter months June and July when the kings are less active. Cheers alan
  20. My mates got the top water and just double check before you buy that when locking the reel on the grip doesn't dig into the rod and DMx the epoxy and blank
  21. Thanks for replies guys Rich hopefully the pa comes this week Ill give you a ring Benno: thanks buddy has ur set of shirts arrived?
  22. Quick facts Previous lure pb jewwie 79cm 3.5 kg estimate. Pb bait jewwie 108cm 11kg Rod :3-6 lb loomis Reel twinpower 1000fc Line: 4 lb bass hard 6 lb fluro FC rock leader Lure: 110mm squidgies flick bait in color evil minnow Jig head: 9gram I've been hitting the cooks George's and harbour for jewwies the past few weeks on the kayak. Have had ok success on the soapies. Mate called at 9pm and asked if I was keen for a land based flick after work in the harbour right after work. Finished work 10:30 got there at 11ish rigged up some plastics and started flicking in the rain. Few lure changes and at about 11:45 this fish was pulled up. 6kg 90cm and very fat fish. Took a very long time to bring in as the current was rushing really quick making it almost impossible to gain line on the twinpower. Weather was crappy with light drizzle and small breeze rolling made it a pretty warm night. Had a few other hits most likely flatties and dropped another Jew (soapie) so all in all worth staying out in the cold. Cheers alan Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  23. Have ever ever fished or atleast paddled in a kayak before? And do you have your own life jacket? I've got a malibu 2xl kayak
  24. Further south the more gummed you will see. Both species can be caught off the beach. Bring 2 rods 1 light 1 medium Light rod for whiting using beach worms if you can catch em Heavier rod with squid. Good luck buddy. U might even get a Jew bronzie and a lot of shovel noses shark and rays as by catch.
