  1. Might be a bit late but pop over to balmoral bait grounds or the baths always yakkas
  2. If I were you I would either pay the little extra and grab the 2500 sustain otherwise save a bit by grabbing the 2500 stradic The only the the ci4 are good for are that little lighter and eye candY the actual drag is a lot worst then a regular stradic especially the new ones and they cop a lot more wear and tear As for rod if your going a bit cheaper 2-4 kg trion or t curve If you can send a bit more go the gloomis or nitro. Ask around you might beable to grab a bargain when grabbing the pair together with line
  3. Looks like the rabbits got chomped . We are all ready for the storm now
  4. Run rabbit run rabbit run.. Run.. Run... Go the doggies. Gotta be a doggies supporter since I've moved in bankstown 3 weeks ago other wise the locals will bash me hahaha Will be a great game I just hope whoever wins beat the storm
  5. Everyone's going to be different as they fish each system differently for different fish but mine would be 1.hacking 2.hawkesbury 3.sydney harbour 4. George's I say hacking first as its clean water and you really do have to know how to fish it. Hawkesbury there's not once we go without a Jew or a thumper bream/ flatties George's I've pulled 90 % of my Jew out off here but really you must work out what time of the year to target them what baits what spots. I've put in a lot of hours to work out the system Sydney harbour holds a lot of big kings and Jews BUT the water way get too busy and is too polluted.
  6. Wriggler has a much more sensitive tail the the grub so even with a lighter jig head it will flutter and yes 3 inch lures still catch bream. Try the gulps 2 inch grubs in pumpkin seed or 2 inch baby shrimp in new penny and 3 inch minnow in nuclear chicken. Big fan of gulps when it comes to bream
  7. I told ya linesystems worth every penny. See how far I can launch my lure out and my 4lb braid 6 lb leader takes a double uni like a champ always breaks at the leader if snagged
  8. Little chopper tailor I think I've been catching a fair few on weed especially when the current runs hard they think it's baitfish
  9. 75cm size limit and a bag limit or 2 per person. It would be a real shame to keep seeing the jewwie population decrease every year they are getting smaller which isn't a good sign at all.
  10. My first jewwie was caught on a 7 inch jerks had in pearl white but since then I have learned you do not need a big lure for a Jew. I've now caught 5 jewwies on lures since ranging from 60-85 cm the biggest since MAY this year. 7 inch plastic caught me my first jewwie a 79cm but 3.25 inch lunker city "shaker" has been my to go to lure for jewwies color is metallic carrot. 3 of the 5 were caught on this lure after a bloke at the tackle store said that big lures don't necessarily catch and introduced them to me. The other lure was a mf 50 vibe by berkley also very small lure so it shows you don't need massive lures for jewwies 3 inch gulps may not be big enough because they are a bit thin and don't stand out but you certainly do not need anything much bigger. 5 inch jerk shads and a lot of the slick rigs in 80 mm are perfect. Watch a few videos on line a lot of guys catch Jews on their 35-40 mm blades and they are 8-10 kilo fish goes to show big means nothing
  11. Upgrade the reel if they are 30 bucks was going to say upgrade your washers to carbontex washer but then it won't be worth it
  12. Hey mate sit on is more stable but you will get more wet whilst sit ins are more likely to roll but stay more dry most fishing kayaks are sit ons occasionally people use sit ins in the fresh for things Like bass and ep's I myself have a malibu 2xl which is a 2 person kayak which I have now decked out. I would love to get a peddal kayak though as those days where I need to out myself on the kayak makes it very fatigue paddling the right way when on a fish.
  13. Hey mate greenhills /Wanda beach has plenty I was their 3 weeks ago and landed my bag limit within an hour as I'm using em for shark baits I packed up and left so I'm sure they still would have been biting. Other than that estuaries don't have thick schools yet might catch one or two but you will do much better on the beach or outside if you have a boat.
  14. We Flickr under moorings and along the wharves in yowie bay this morning caught a nice flatty and a few bream and pinkies all on blades and plastics
  15. Waratah and jerusalem bay will give you a chance. Also along long island nature reserve closer to the Brooklyn rail bridge side.
  16. Thing things in my last post only induced plastic lol. Make sure and I mean MAKESURE!!! You buy a few blades they are so effective on the bream flathead and whiting. I have even caught a few squid on them haha. Try stick with ecogear vx35 or 40 or the zx 35 or 40 or tt switchblades 1/8 you'll be sure to be hooked onto blades just don't use em around snagged areas
  17. 1. Yes lures work at night but I have only had success in areas with light source like bridges and wharves. 2.generally speaking it is the right thing to do to bump the size of your jig head up as the wind picks up but the reason you were feeling your rod to be heavy is because the jig head size does not match the rod 3.i do not believe there is a chart for what lure catches what 4. I thing your combo is more of a fatty combo. I use a 2-4lb loomis imx with a twinpower FC 1000 for bream and flathead 4lb braid whilst my jewwie combo is a 2-4 kg fireblood with a sustain fg 2500 8 lb braid. I don't believe jewwies fight very hard as they usually have their 2 runs and they are pretty much finished so you don't need the strongest rod for them. I have caught most my jewwies on the first combo 4 lb line as that's the one which always follows me around. 5. I have found the bigger name lures always work better than the cheapies in the soft plastic range squidgies gulps keitech ecogear and there are a lot of other brands out there. My advice is work some 5 inch - 7 inch lures around bridges and around drop offs if you have a boat and you should land one in the coming days Cheers alan
  18. What loomis is it generally speaking the loomis rods in the 10-20lb range are quite stiff in comparison to other rods.
  19. I'm sure they would work as shark burley would you like some?
  20. 12 minute fight??? U must be using a very small a mouth of drag on very light line.
  21. The best bait for Jews in the hawkesbury is hawkesbury prawns. Some guys taught me a special way to peel em which make the bait very presentable. I have seen people land some very big Jews on peeled prawn even though I haven't caught any that size there on prawns most mine are 50-60cm but they are in numbers
  22. Cheers buddy I went yesterday landing 5 with the first being an absolute cracker . In my eyes atleast was a 4 kilo fish using a size 2/0 hook yes I know too big but I left the small hooks at home. Does anyone want some free carp for fertilizer as I'm going to spend a bit of time fishing them out of the lakes and rivers these few weeks
  23. Ey guys just wondering if the carp are feeding in winter? I've never caught them before and would love to go tomorrow to parra park. Thanks in advance Alan
  24. Hey mate fishing bream whiting and flathead on poppers is very very hard to do n the winter. Wait until the weather warms up and they will start to come on especially the whiting
