  1. Nice one, About time they showed up thick.
  2. Never heard of the scales way to tell... That's a good one. I thought the shape was like a yellowfin as well, but just could not explain how dark it was. Another?
  3. Ok I have never had the chance to target black bream down south but im wondering if they are as far up as the central coast. Myself and fishing mates have never really seen them up this way but during a flick in the brackish i run into this bulldozer. Would like to hear everyone's two cents on black bream/Dark Yellowfin/Hybrid Was catching Yellowfin in the same area that were the normal silver and not dark.
  4. Catch and Release fishing session mate.
  5. More into a C&R sports fish mate, Have heaps of bait in the freezer already, Cheers.
  6. I'm heading down to Callala Bay on Monday for 3 days and wondering if I should take my yak to have a look around Falls Creek, Does anyone know much about fishing in it this time of the year?? Thanks in advance. Not being Lazy just want to know if its worth lugging my yak all the way from the Central Coast. Here is a map. http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&sou...mp;t=h&z=14
  7. I have covered just about every inch of water here and it depends on what "Dams" you are talking about. PM me if you don't want to give any secrets away. No doubt I have thrown a line or two into them. With the question at hand its hard to answer what Lure to use without knowing what situation and "Dam" you are on. also beware of private property owners... A friendly knock at their door and a 6pac normally helps that situation in advance..
  8. It actually got right up my goat when I got the new fishing monthly and seen a few people saying that "this month "July" is a great time to target bass" NO......... Its NOT! Leave them to do their thing!!!! Then we can have lots of baby bass as a reward!!!
  9. Maybe you are talking about this guy? He landed it on Sat in the hawkesbury on a Plastic. Not sure who it is but he sent it to a mate of mine and he forwarded it to me.. Nice work eh!!!
  10. You got a SOL3000 for 200 bucks?
  11. Cheers for the reply guys, We will mainly be concentrating on Black Head throwing the usual arsenal at Salmon kings and Bonito. Think I will also spend some time on Pigs and Groper. Cheers for the Nipper ground luderick59, Will deff hit them up if the rocks are slow. Will report back Sunday...
  12. Heading to Gerroa over the weekend to have a throw with a mate, Anyone been fishing there of late with any luck? Would love to hear whats firing on the rocks down there... And what style of fishing you're doing. PM's are ok if you wish.
  13. They are 1500C mate, I picked them up anyway, Im 99% sure they are the real thing. Just wonder why they dont have the "Made in Sweden" stamped into the metal.
  14. Just wondering if anyone here got the limited run of this Orange reel?? 900 were made I think?? and does yours have "Made in Sweden" stamped on the reel? Just wondering as I was going to buy one but my shop fell through with trying to get one and I just found 2 in a pawn shop in Sydney "New in box" for $100 each and was hesitant about not having "Made in Sweden" stamped on them. The box does...along with all the paper work and so on... but not the reel, although they look and feel like the real thing just wanted to know since I have the original version that has the stamp.
  15. The only one I got broke. Best by far I find is TT's Still trying new ones out but will always go back to TT.
  16. Although we had a rough day on the water mate, I still managed to turn that nice little flathead from THIS: TO THIS: MMMMmmmmmm Beer battered Flathead with Garlic Prawns.
  17. Have fished that creek a lot in my yak but at times its like a wind tunnel with high winds like tomorrow. Good luck!
  18. I got one of those Kakoda Oceanic tide and sky clocks today. How do I get the exact pressure to set it? is there anywhere online that can tell you this???? if not how do I work it out.. I normally look at manly hydraulics for past pressure and that has been over 1020 all day and my clock is sitting at 1013. the piece of paper with it does not say much.
  19. have used all of them for Bream, Whiting, Bass/Eps, great poppers But I cut the tails off all the time.
  20. Normally happens when you don't pay attention to the reel after the cast. Sometimes the braid will form a loop over the lip of the spool and next cast resulting in a mess. Always watch your reel after you cast when your bail is back in place, If a loop appears fix it by pulling on the drag until it comes out. I also use 6lbPE on a Sol 2500 but have a strong habit of pulling the line tight after a cast by lifting the rod tip or pulling the line with my hand.
  21. Considering I cant ever get a schoolie of late

  23. One editor I have been talking to recons Nikon D80 or Cannon 40D is the ducks nuts for it at the moment, I could easy trust myself in the yak with my Camera, I don't fish rough waters and it is bloody hard to tip, I have gone against some mega boat wakes only to be surprised that I'm still sitting in it. I have good storage in the back behind the seat as the seat is on runners and moves forward very easy and that's where the Camera would sit in my dry-bag. here a photo. A mate who has the same Yak can take photos of this quality on a small tripod .
  24. hahaha classic post mate! Brutal flathead!
  25. Guess I have to buy a camera first eh, That is a good idea tho I will have to look into it after purchase, I did have and SLR when film was still around and I had that mastered very well basically want to spend around $1000 give a bit more if needed, Want to get Ideas on whats out their first and what fisherman/writers use before I go speak to some sales nerd who has no idea, trying to make budget saying he owns three of them. The question on how big is my Boat? I fish from an old town loon. a sit in Kayak. I fish creeks/backwaters/dams/and sand flats.
