  1. I went down Late Dec and hit the rocks for sweet nothing... I did see kings below the rock ledge but they would not even take live squid from those rocks. Went into target beach for 3 salmon and 2 bream one morning. Worst xmas I have ever had there.
  2. I went and had a look at this in Gosford... Wild looking thing.. Reminded me of the show beyond 2000... What ever happened to all these "beyond 2000" ideas anyway.
  3. Also fished killcare this arvo, pumped my nippers got 2 whiting and thought I was going to get flattened by the storm so I was only there for half an hour, come back to Gosford end for little bream and that's it.
  4. Yeah haha thats it!! Ah I ment how to change the hooks on my gitter bug, but as you said is what I thought. Cheers Shannon.
  5. haha I know Roberta, One last light after dark had a go, it was sucking all up and around the lure and an finally the hook up was enough for a 30sec fight and he got off... Whiting are the masters of it!!! sometime makes me so mad when i'm popping them!!! Does anyone know how to change Gitter hooks?? they don't have a split ring. maybe cut the hook off and put a split ring and better hooks on???
  6. Well I'm far from a pro that's for sure... I have been fishing for bass just about every second day last month and just cant stop. A bass Catching Guide is outta my league still haha... One mag that is worth a read tho is the Barra Bass Bream. And if everyone knew the Where, When, What , Why and how my walking hikes would just get harder and harder!!!
  7. I live on the Gosford side and the only place to fish there is the Rail bridge, everyhere else is dead quiet... I normally hit the sand flats with poppers and SPs for good whiting and Flathead... Also pumping nippers will 100% increase your catch.. I hope for it to get better this month. but yes it has been hard. Hence why Bass has been my main target. As Luffy said Punt bridge is good but overcrowded at times, I have also got Eps and Bream there. At this point Sand flats are the key... and don't overlook water under a foot deep. I got a 41cm whiting last week in water like this on a nipper and with the sun high at 2pm.
  8. you can buy cheap ($7-$20) mullet traps from most fishing stores, I found the best way is firing up the mullet with bread crumbs first in shallow water then putting your trap in so it does NOT sink to the bottom, of course with bread inside you should do well... I release the mullet "normally" about 20 into an enviro net and sort them letting the smaller ones go. normally only need to do this twice... then flathead here we come...
  9. Have not done a report for a while and the bass are still coming.... This one below begged once again for my Jitter after three explosive hits he could just not get enough!!! I still cant get over how hard these fish hit!!! and the sound of the surface explosion is giving me sleepless nights!!!! Not much of a report but if you have never been bass fishing DO IT!!
  10. with my bass addiction of late this one spot I have been fishing on dark has a lot of surface strikes that sound dead on like bass but when you cast a surface lure to them they ignore it.. be it bugs, fizz, and so on. today we took another bloke to see what he thinks and he got an eel on a bass surface lure... now this just crushed my thoughts thinking all this surface stuff was just Eels?? The question is do Eels hit the surface sounding like Bass??? Any input??
  11. I use this tide clock online, http://www.tide-times.com.au/localtime_NSW...er/Gosford.html If you go for new search you can do rip bridge, entrance and so on..
  12. Great report Roberta!!! im still struggling to catch a nice bream of late!!!!
  13. Well done mate!! It was bright out as well...!!! Bass.... What an addiction.
  14. I have 20lb Iron Stream on my 4000 TD SOL and its fine, The Dia is only 0.32 and I fit about 280yrds on the reel. It does not effect my casting at all. Next time you go to the shop have a look at the Dia of the line and if you pay a little more you will have a good outcome.
  15. Yes they are very few and far between in the Murrumbidgee, Not to mention hard work to get to.. in this case All mine are well worthy of a healthy release.
  16. I'm getting a lot of Flathead around the shallows on Sp's they are taking everything small and big. Went to the Gosford rail bridge yesterday landed and released 2 nice FH on one SP i took to try the new braid I got before I hit JB tomorrow. Second fish destroyed the plastic so I went home. In other words, yes they are on. But where are the bream??
  17. I have been meaning to start a salt tank... A place I used to shop at had Bream and Barra together.... Weird but it worked. I used to have a Murray Cod of 45cm in a nice size talk along with a fresh water eel, the eel would bury itself under the gravel until feeding time(worms) and the cod would get Live gold fish once a week from the pet store, That was a great pet, watching it feed was so aggressive... I ended up making an addition of a yella smaller than the Cod but woke up the next morning with the tail of the yella sticking outta the Cods mouth.. When I got home from work he was soooo fat haha it was classiiccc. had to give it to a mate as I moved state. had a go at Trout about 6 times as I had a Trout farm I went past all the time so I would get fingerlings and they never lasted more than a week. Mullet tank got me thinking!!! No more collecting before a session Great Idea!
  18. Flathead are everywhere and everywhere in between, if it be Drifting.. SP's.. even relaxing on a bank with a whitebait out... at this time they are there. So my bet would be throwing SP's around the edge of any weed bed or structure... you cant fail., drifting just about anywhere will score you a fish.
  19. I must say I went to a store with a $50 work gift voucher yesterday and they had nothing I was interested in. Maybe because its Christmas but I remember them having a LOT more stock than they do. Socks and undies it was
  20. They can also pull out a knife and cut you up, I believe this should be left for the officers, But then I have never ever seen them fresh or salt. Only last week I was fishing around the Rail bridge in Gosford and 2 "not mentioning nationalities" come up to me saying "Bait" "Bait" and handed me a plastic bag with well under size tarwine, bream, snapper and other reef looking fish, What can you say when they are holding a box that could have a knife in it!!! I was to far away from his car to see number plates. I would like to see a LOT more fisheries officers out there. On this note I would also like to see "Zero Tolerance" come across, no warnings or anything.. Loss of ALL fishing gear, Boats, A revoked fishing license "not being able to renew it" and MASSIVE fines. Maybe then we can hire more officers???

  22. I just done the great north walk this arvo/night, Take a rod with you mate, Small fish but fun, I only got one of 12cms today but its a great walk!!!!
  23. Will also be down next week mate, Mainly know LBG down there but if if you want an extra rod in the boat give us a yell.
  24. Well, After spending some well earned hrs on searching the coast for bass I found my "spot X" rocked up after the long painful walk to sit down and have a cigarette and seen a bug get taken from the surface by what I knew was a monster bass! Instantly my smoke was put in my butt bin and my black Fred Arbogas JitterBug I found on my last Cod trip hit the water, First cast I got a massive surface hit and miss, then another miss then smack my rod was begging for mercy!!! I could not believe it first cast and a bass over 40cms, Quick photos and back in the water.. Shaking like I just had a near death experience the bug was on the water and I %&^% you not INSTANT strike that was even bigger!!! this one I dropped at the bank as I did not have a net but it was at least 55cms!! this went on for the 40mins I was there I landed 3 fish and lost 2 solid hook ups at the bank all on the Fred Arbogas JitterBug that I found on my last cod trip so even better... here are some photos.. The bigger one up against my rod is at least 52cms.. And FAT! Is that any kind of Fishraider record?
