  1. Went for a arvo fish with the in a little family comp for the christmas title of most species and biggest of each species. We only keep track of the bread and butter fish . The end total was the 6 to my 2 . She got the f/h biggest bream an whiting and 4 species , i was floggged . All in all it was a good arvo with no rain but a bit of wind . I will now have to wait till next year .
  2. All the fish were caught on worms and frozen nippers
  3. Great fish there mate , well done on a couple of good groper
  4. Tony , they had no safety chain and the whinch cable snapped half way up the ramp , the inboard was enbedded into the ramp Jim , with the wind like it was last nite its easy to get whiting as the boat swings 30 - 40 metres .Its only my 2nd attempt at the whiting in the bay so i was happy to get a few.
  5. Got a call from a customer to do a check measure at malabar so i decided to hook the boat up and fish the bay when i finished . The 20 knot south easter wasnt going to stop me . Got to the new forshore drive ramp et 7pm to see a 8 metre whitley sitting in the car park without a trailer , they didnt hook up the safety chain , thats the first thing i do when i bring in the boat .First inpressions of the new ramp ( crap ) wouldnt use it on a weekend as everyone just ties up to the wharf and blocks the pontoons. Went straight across the bay into the wind and started to fish on the sea side of the oil wharf. First 4 cast and lost 4 good fish . Thats what you get for trying new rigs . We fished till 1030 but the wind got the better of us and we headed back .The mate i took said there was no fish in the bay and after him only getting 3 fish last week he wanted a little wager , ha final tally was 5 for him and 23 for me with a tally of 28 fish , 1 fh 2 snapper 5 trevally 5 tarwhine 7 bream and 8 whiting with the biggest at 45cm. It was a solid 3 hr of fishing . Hope you enjoy the read .
  6. Use worms mate , got 8 in the bay tonite , biggest was 44cm , will do a post and pic in the morning
  7. 41 cm is a good size fish for daylight hrs , a mate went fri nite and only got 10 fish , you did good in those conditions . Stalk you soon mate.

  10. Keflapod , good to see you back on the water again , did you get them in the same spot i saw you last year ? That tarwhine would have put up a great fight , i got 1 last year that went 1.6kg , thought it was a stingray.

  12. Nice catch there mate , i notice there was no whiting , did you fish for them as my mate got 22 on sat at woy woy in 15.8 water . Good to see you out again.
  13. Went to botany today with a friend of mine an we fished for 6-12 for a great day on the water. After all the rain i thought the water would be dirty but it was its normal colour. As soon as we got there we were into them till the tide changed at 8. It was then quite till around 10 when the tide picked up an started to move a bit faster. All in all it was a perfect day with perfect weather. cheers raiders Ther wer some good bream
  14. It is a crucian carp , they only grow to 1.5kg unless caught in glenbawn dam where they mated with the european carp an grow to 3kg.

  16. Hey diver , you givin up on the lake flatties.?
  17. we put the boat in at 230 pm an headed over to paddy channel for a few elbow slapping whiting but the pesty bream drove us insane. Got 15 bream with 2 over a 1kg, 3 flatties an 2 whiting with the biggest a mere 37cm but you have to be in it to win. First time i have had hail in the boat but at least we were facing the same way we were fishing, Got the boat out at 530 b4 the next downpour.
  18. You cant miss the drop off mate , just follow the channel to the end an you will find it. I have been there a few times in resent weeks an there are heaps of fish , good luck
  19. I got a call from a lifelong friend who had a spare seat in his boat for a 2 day trout fish down at eucumbene. Since i dont have a boat an this trip had been owed to me for 2 years ( due to a business favour ) the suggested i get on board. With 3 people on his 15ft boat i wasnt to keen to go but taking a friday off sealed the deal. We did a bit of trolling but got most of the fish on bait whilst fishin just on dark an 1hour into the nite. 17 of the trout were caught on scrubworms under a float an the rest on tassie devils. It was a great trip an i was glad i went. Now its time to sit back an have smoked trout an crackers.
  20. No prob guys, thats what I thought, so i had already sent a PM earlier. Thanks.
  21. Felt like 100mtrs but was prob more like 80mtrs, was hard work winding up 1lb sinkers all day. The snapper was about 5lb and the mowie was 3lb. All together we had about 70 fish on the boat with 17 snapper. Bloody feeling the heat after the sunburn from yesterday.
  22. Went out off Sydney today on a charter boat with a few mates from work. Left Rose Bay at 5am and headed out about 4 miles straight off the heads. We had a small bet to see who would win the day and with a catch like mine I had no chance of loosing. Got back at 1pm, had a small weigh in, then we headed over the rocks for a nice lunch. Got back home about 5pm.
  23. I was working at the harbour today and noticed a man under the harbour bridge. He had 5 rods out at one time. Does anyone know how many you are actually allowed to use. Thanks guys.
