My suggestions are w/ends Oct 7/8 or Oct 21/22.

Post up what you think.

We will need someone to organise it so who's going to put there hand up?

Lets see if we can find a motivated organiser that can live up to the Swordy's standards!

James, you suggested & wanted it. What part would you like to play in making the event happen?

Cheers,

Grant.

Hi James

It just needs someone to co-ordinate it really. Decide on species, any rules etc, determine a venue, time, date and start adding a list of attendees. The mods will pin the topic and assist here. Start a fresh post when you have all the details set.

Ok this looks like another great Social Day and the members and their guests are all welcome

FISHRAIDER SOCIAL DAY

Species...

Date ......

Venue ......

Start time .....

Check out the link here as an example for the Blackfish Social which is on this Sunday.

Hope this helps.

The dates Grant has suggested are fine by me. In between those dates I will be in Townsville.

I am also happy to help out in what ever way

Why not get the ball rolling and agree

Venue: Hawkesbury from the road Bridge to lion Island and Pittwater and Cowan

Species: Jewfish, flathead and Bream

Points: Jewfish = 3 points per kg, Flathead and Bream 2 points per fish be release or keep

BBQ: Sunday 12.30pm Basin

Start time Friday 6pm and Finish Sunday 12 noon

Cheers

Great Start Martin ,

Just a thought , will there be land based options for those who do not have access to a boat? Seeing as the Hairtail event was so well organised , perhaps we could stick with that model , ie , organising decky positions for those who would like to get out onto the water. Are we looking at this being an overnight event ( ) , if so , would any one be interested in doing the motherboat thing again? ( also  )

If I can be of any help , I wouldnt mind lending a hand with the organisation of this event .

Hi Ross

No reason we can not also have land based, however I would hope that for those who do not have a boat we can get them on a boat as crew/decky.

My thoughts were to run it through the nights so everyone may get a chance to fish, particularly those on driving the kids to sport duty.

House boat sounds good and those wanting to be part of it just need to say so and we keep another list for the house boat participants.

If the house boat was moored in Refuge Bay or Americas Bay it is very central to the favoured haunts for jewfish. On second thoughts Gunya point or Jerusalem Bay are great Jewfish spots for a houseboat.

Cheers

Hi All,

Count me in - and count me in for help with rigs, bait and possible spots.

Jim

I am just being told off for using Als - ID (femalefisho) :wife:

Ahhhh

Stu if you need help I am all hands on deck.

My suggestions are late October - Have found I get my larger Jew around

ealry November - conciding with a neat tide, around the last quarter moon.

This is when for some unknown reason I have gotten my larger fish. but

the fish are on most of the time - an increasing barometer gets them on the

bite more.

if so we will go for the weekend following which is friday 13th saturday 14th and sunday 15th

sounds great. I'll be in if it lands on this weekend.

hi raiders,

although you can pick up jew all year round ive found from early november through to about the end of april the best as there are definately more fish around especially schoolies. i think we should do it late october or early november to better everyones chances of scoring fish. whatever date we decide il be there with bells on

im also willing to help out with the social.

Hi there Jewie Social attendees ,seems like early November is a much better prospect from what I am reading .

Might one of you make a date for early in that month and see what the rest of the guys think ??

Cheers Stewy

Once you get a firm date we will set the forum up for you and add names and the venue and dates

This is not as easy as it seems and needs a lot of organising :biggrin2:

hey stewie what do you think give the voting some more time or what because as it stands early october was the given weekend but i guess we can give voting a little more time to give the people who have missed out on voting an opportunity.

the pittown comp is on the 10 11 12th of november so that weekend is a no no. before or after not a problem.

so how about we give the voting three more days Friday 6pm then we can cemented it in
