Hi raiders,

Took the Quiny for a run on the bay y/day with my mate Bill.

We set off from penrhyn ramp at 6.30,cruised around the bay

and just outside looking for feeding birds, didnt see much.

Had a quick bottom bash just off Botany heads for some rubbish fish.

The fishing was slow so we moved back into the bay.

Saw a couple of sporadic splashes in front of the boat, just inside

Kurnell headland, threw a few lures and sp's around for zilch, then

switced to ganged pillies and 3rd cast Bills on,a nice 50cm Bonnie is

landed, then im on and a 55cm Bonnie comes aboard,in the next 20 mins

Bill lands one more 48cm Bonnie, and all goes quite. We move to the hot

water outlet and berley up, and set our baits adrift and zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

and zzzzzzzzzzz we are both on Bill drops his, but I land mine a 70cm

King :yahoo:

Next bait to be hit is Bills and a 68cm King is flopping around on the deck. :yahoo:

Over the next 40 mins we boat another 4 kings 65-70cm,and hook up and lose

7 more, a couple of which were lost as they were about to be netted :1badmood:

When the action had died down,we noticed large splashes and dive bombing birds

about 300mtrs away just off Kurnell beach. We motored over and and threw everything

we had at the feeding fish,we got alot of follow ups and saw that they were Salmon

Frigates and Tailor, they would not take a bait,sp's or metals not a thing, how

frustrating, a couple of other boats joined in to try their luck, but to no avail.

We left and went over to the 3rd runway.Got the berley happening, then we

sat back to enjoy a couple of hours of aircraft noise.

Over the next 2hrs we boated 4 Bream to 34cm 8 Trevs to 39cm,Bill also

got a 27cm Tarwhine.

We left while the fish were still on the bite, but we'd had enough by now.

It was a good day to be out on the water even though the wind picked up

a little.

I had the relos over today and 2 of the Kings found their way on to the bbq,

The same thing was happening at Bills place a couple of blocks away.

Great bag of fish mate. Hopefully can get some more of those Frigates, better bait means better fish.

Sounds like one of those diamond days, mate. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo: What an amazing bag of fish - any angler would be proud of that! I've really got to get out on Botany Bay! Doesn't look like it'll be anytime soon, though - judging by this storm...

What baits were you using for the kings? Great session, btw.

Hi David L,

All kings were caught using peeled Endeaver prawns.

Too true,it was hard to leave them biting,

but we had enough to feed everyone, including the relos and my

neighbours who just happen to appear everytime we pull up at

home with the boat after a fish.

Sounds like you had a top day Penguin.

A great bag of fish too.

Those kings must have been fun to catch.

We only managed undersized ones on the bay but

we still had a ball on light line.

Well done

I was surprised we didnt encounter any undersize Kings,

I noticed on some other reports thats what some people

were getting in the bay.

But im not complaining,I'll take what im given.
