GIANT FLATHEAD

Hey guys.

Fished last week with good mate Troy (mialla) at Mallacoota and Wonboyn.

The Wonboyn part, was a boys trip with some good laughs. It fished well but was full of small fish mostly 35-45cm....hundreds of them.

One of the boys landed a 72cm there.

The Mallacoota part of the trip though was purely to target and film some big flathead.

Lets just say its good when a plan comes together.

I was the lucky one that saw the fish and so Troy ended up behind the camera a bit ....thats fishing sometimes.....but we didn't care who caught them and we were both rapt with the footage and the results of the two days.

There was a 71 81 90 and 96cm landed.

Heres a few shots of the better fish but stay tuned for the footage which will be released on youtube in the next week or so as REEL IT IN " HOW TO CATCH BIG FLATHEAD" where we will share some of our tips on these big girls.

Heres the 81cm

This one went 90cm and went like a rocket....probably the biggest run i've ever seen in a flathead.

This was the first big girl caught for the trip and went 96cm and weighed in at 7kg.....a beast.

Whoah Dusky that is a serious outing with that many trophies in an outing you must still be buzzing! Great shots too! Can't wait to read more about the lures, depth, terrain and other variables as would many flatty fans! Bring on the YouTube!

Seriously Coota has it all, horse lizards in the spring and summer and stonker breambo's in the winter....it's a serious hike to get there from Sydney and Melbourne, that's probably the reason it's one of best estuary fisheries on the east coast.

Great trip mate!
