Fish ID (Eastern Smooth Boxfish)

Hi guys,

First time poster, long time learner from the site.

My partner caught this fish from the hacking this week on a peeled prawn. Any ideas as to what it is?

 Looks like a Eastern Smooth Boxfish,“ Anoplocapros inermis” but I’m not at home so just looking at it on my phone.

Its a highly poisonous puffer fish that should not be handled 😱  

 

Yeh sorry, just my sense of humor after a couple of beers.

Not sure but looks like its from the puffer family?

Edit: actually it could be from the jacket family?

i think from the description on line, Blackfish has got it, it is from the box fish family,

Are you referring to the app ID Fish.   

Blackfish has nailed it again.   The app states it is toxic to eat.

Boxfish, non edible, have caught a few in the Hacking over the years when fishing for jackets.
