JonD
Hit the sand again just after dark yesterday, with my young fella and his new enthusiasm to fish!!! Hooked a few salmon early in the day which were lost during the fight which were going to be our evening baits (happens very commonly around this moon phase). Surf was a still pretty big which made choosing our evening location a little hard. Decided to go where we had the big tailor on our last trip but after the 20min walk up the beach we decided it didn't look good enough, no distinct gutters to be found. Jumped in the car and headed to another spot only to pull up next to an emu!!! This beach also looked a bit washed out but with the light falling we gave it a try. First cast and every cast on had either salmon or tailor take the frozen baits. Wasn't long before I had some fresh fillets out on the hook. A big old fat head port Jackson decided it was going to give my son a bit of grief on a 13ft rod in the surging swell!!! Didn't matter to him, he was delighted to break the evening up from the salmon and tailor. Brought two salmon and two tailor home for baits to try again tonight at a different spot.
noelm
Had a go myself yesterday afternoon, Tailor have been "busting up" right across the road from my house, got the gear ready, found a nice gutter, all I caught was a paddle boarder, much to his dismay, when I was getting him unhooked the Tailor had moved way up the beach, so I packed up and went home.! 3 2
