Pickles
Had a slow start on Tuesday, even though I was on the water early. Couldn’t raise a squid, but have had no trouble getting giantcuttlefish and the candles of these are deadly on Kings. However all the fish were caught on jigs (see photo). Ended up with 5 kings, but only 2 legal 66 and 68, but also caught some nice flatties and several big Chinaman leatherjackets to 48cm.

Yowie
Sounds like a good session, and a good feed to take home. Big jackets in the harbour, they will be chewing off some tackle.

big Neil
Sounds like a very good session Pickles. Do you keep Leatherjackets? I really enjoy eating them. At least they have some value as a "nuisance species", not like Carp. Cheers, bn
Pickles
Yep, certainly keep the large (Chinaman) jackets, but send back most of the harbour ones as they are either too small or narrow. But certainly tasty and easy to clean and prepare (wish flatties were that easy)
corro
Hey mate, great report as always. I like the look of those jigs, what are they called? Looks like they'd be pretty deadly on tailor as well.
Pickles
Jackson Danial 40g. They make 20 & 30 gm jigs also, but the 40g has a spoon flasher that I’m sure does the damage - I went put a few weeks ago and jus left the rod in the rod holder & bumping along the bottom and I outfished my buddy on flathead. I’ve also caught Bonito, tailor and mackerel with it
