Hi Guys, You will like this story. Brings back a lot of Memories.

I had packed up for the morning, so I walked down the jetty to see what was happening as a few people had arrived & the rain had eased.

There was this elderly guy trying to tie a knot in his line. As I looked closer he had a cork with gut line on it & a rusty hook

i said let me help you. He said I am ok.  I aked him  did you fight in WW2 ? no Korea.

I went back to my van & I gave him two hand line plastic spools. two packs of 6lb Shimano Exage mono, some whiting hooks & some sucide hooks & sinkers.

I said good luck as I walked away. Speechless.

Cheers.

I assume this is part 2? What a fantastic gesture on your part Rebel. I hope that your generous gift provides him with lots of great fishing and adds value to his life. What comes around, goes around. We need more people in the world like you. bn

Cork hand lines.

Would have to be a Century ago.

I went looking for my olld fishing basket after seeing the cork handline.

I still have two.

Cheers.

I turned all mine into blackfish floats many years ago. Still have a few of the floats though.

Korean War ended in 53, so old mate must be about 90!

Goodonya for helping him out Rebel! 👍👏🙏

One of my friends that I really enjoy fishing with father is one of the WWII, Rats of Tobruk. He’s 99, still plays golf once a week.

Don't see many around these days, everything seems to be plastic. bn
