Rebel
Hi All, Had to get in before the school holidays. Great cool morning. Slow start. Caught a nice Bream. Puppy will be happy. Switch to lures. Four nice Bonito. That was enough. Neighbours will be happy. New rod. Dawia Sensor Wave. Worked well. Not as good as my 10ft Prevail 2. But, you have to experiment. New reel Okuma Ceymar 5000 reel with 15lb Pretest Mono. This a budget reel & it was great. Off to the Newport Arms for breakfast. Top hamburgers. Happy Easter Everybody.

Green Hornet
Well done again Rebel and good idea getting out before the influx of tourists. Good to hear you’re happy with the Okuma, but what didn’t you like about the new rod?

Rebel
@Green Hornet I really like Dawia rods. I bought this one only because it was on Special. Retail $180.00. Bought it for $100.00 It is 9ft 7'' 8-15kg rating. Probably not suited for the Rocks. It is a lure rod. I will take it to the beach, see how it goes. Cheers.

I have a couple of Daiwa’s Morethan rods and rate them highly for casting lighter metals.

Rebel
@Pickles About 12 months ago a guy had a Okuma Ceymar reel sale. What caught my eye was these reels have 10 year warranty & were not expensive. I bought a 2500, 4000 & a 5000. Put them in the cupboard & forgot about them till this week & tried out the 5000. Top reel for the money. Worked really well. Cheers.
