seies Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Hi all I normally lurk around here this is my first time posting. This is probably best catch this year, a red mowy at 48cm. i predominantly rockfish only and to catch one of these is something to really special to me. Bait: nipper Location: 2h down south from Sydney 14
noelm Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Yep, Red Mowies are around in big numbers, but very rare to catch one on a line, in all my years, I have only caught one, speared lots of them…..great catch.
Blackfish Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Certainly unusual to catch one on line. One to remember.
Little_Flatty Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 @seies! Reports are always welcomed here! Having eaten many a delicious red morwong, I certainly know how special a fish they are.
Yowie Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Nice mowie (as opposed to the mongrel deep sea mowies). Reasonably good eating, and not a common catch.
Larkin Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Nice couple of fish 👍 Always fun catching something you’ve never caught before.
kantong Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Thanks for sharing the report and that is a very decent sized mowie. Well done!
Pickles Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 Good on you for posting @seies, always good when mail a new species.
