well done john,some nice fish caught.i been fishing my local[far upper reaches] but it has been pretty slow of late,the water up there is still pretty filthy.good job on landing some fish in not the best water clarity. cheers johnny.

try soft plastics.me & my mates fish the upper georges with plastics alot with some cracker fish caught.gulp3-5in minnows,2-3in shrimps,3-4in pogys,squidgys-70-100mm wrigglers,shads & fish patterns are all great plastics.try use the lightest jighead as conditions will allow.good luck. cheers johnny.

thanx for letting us all know geoff. iv spoken to byron a few times this past week & he told me that the pain was getting unbareable at times.poor bloke. as soon as i found out this morning,i rang his family home & spoke to byrons young grandson.i asked about the situation & where he is atm,as im going to go visit him in hospital as much as i can cos no one likes stays in hospital,& for the people who speak to byron,you'd know how much he loves to have a good yarn.hehehe. .so il be there for you mate.im sure the hospital staff are doing thier best for ol' jewgaffer & he'l be back on his feet in no time.when i see him,il be sure to let him know that fishraiders are wishing him,shirl & his whole family the best & are thinking of him. get well soon old mate byron. cheers johnny.

me & joco fished the bay yesterday with live yakkas & were flicking sp's also.besides 2 kings on live bait[70 & 55cms],we didnt have much luck on the plastics.just pike,a tiny flatty,alone trev & a angry longtom that bit me while i was releasing him. cheers johnny.

thanx heaps for a top day on the water nath.i really enjoyed the day on your boat mate.im very impressed with the old girl,she performed flawlessly & is a very dry ride for a boat that sits that low to the water.shame the fishing front wasnt so great but like you said yesterday,it was great to just be out there. hopefully our next session we'l land a couple keepers for a feed with hopefully a big stinky silver slab in the bag.im dying for a feed of fresh fish.i couldv kept those 3 just legals but i dont like keeping lizards under 40cms.chat soon mate cheers johnny.

well done fellas,some nice fish landed on blades.question stewy,when using the blades,do you get much snags & lost lures fishing with them mate?iv got a couple TT's but havnt used em much in fear of snagging & loosing the lure,therefore i mostly stick with plastics.id really like to try the bigger blades for local jewfish. cheers johnny.

id also like to add my big thank you to the admin team,mods & everyone that took part in the organisation of such a great day.sooo glad the weather gods were kind to us.also thanx to gregL on some good tips during our group time.thanx to DGF[arron] for taking me & anth out on his boat all day.spewing we didnt come back to check in a few times to get some freebies. im happy that i broke my drought on fishless outings flicking plastics around the local.after 8 fishless trips,it was great to feel the fight of a fish again.i got a whiting like tidenknots,my new plastics pb,going 41cms on a 4in flickbait.it was sooo thick & in great condition.a nice bream in the high 30's,numerous flattys[2 keepers,40-50cm],choppers & a lone legal trev so it was a mixed bag.couldnt find the ep's or the jew but im not complaining,it was a great day.thanks again to everyone. cheers johnny. ps.one other thing we couldnt find was my mate josh who was suppose to come meet us there.i rang him alot of times but he mustv forgot his mobile & we went back to see if we could see him a few times but he eluded us today.haha. sorry mate.

hi raiders, i was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to get a new tip section on my 6.6ft,1-3kg steve starling stella spin rod.im note sure if you can buy tip sections seperate so can anyone shed some light on this.id really like to use this rod for my lighter plastics/HB's fishing with say 2lb braid on a 1000 size reel. so if anyone knows where i can pick it up,let me know,or even better,if a fellow raider has 1 & wouldnt mind selling it to me would be great.thanks in advance. cheers johnny.
