  5. sorry i only know that it is the ramp near port botany and i have never been there myself.
  6. hi guys got this from fishnet It's terrible what can happen when you go fishing Well, went fishing tonight at botany. We had just launched from the ramp at 6.30pm, only 1 other boat launched and the area was pretty quiet. Got ready for the nights outing about 50yrds from the ramp, we were about to set off when we noticed a fire in the carpark, my mate jumped onto the mobile and called the fire brigade and we headed back to the ramp with another boat returning just behind us, luckily our car was safe, but on either side of the burning vehicle was a tarago and trailer, white hilux and trailer. I thought about trying to get the trailer of the burning car but thought not, anyway the blokes who had pulled in behind us had seen the fire on their way in and it turned out that it was their toyota landcruiser that was on fire, mate the look on the poor blokes face is something i wont forget. It appears the car was broken into as the back door was open, but why torch the car ?,poor bastar----s. The fire brigade turned up but obviously the car couldnt be saved. Worst thing was he borrowed the car of a mate and didnt no if it was insured. Anyway caught nothing but it was nice on the water.

    Fuel Prices

my 9.8 HP tohatsu uses nearly no fuel. i use about 2.5 litres per trip! BTW i go a fair way eg captain cook bridge to wonie or oatly
  8. a 3.10m or a 3m polycraft tuff tender. But more importantly small!!!
  9. lots of questions but just one answer from me # The dealer said Mariner motors were made by Mercury. Are Mariner motors just "rebadged" Mercurys with a different paint job, or are they actually different motors (with different design and performance)? They are the same but they have different cowlings
  10. when for a fish and a cruise with the new motor. put in at sylvania at 2:00 and went for a run to towra point and kurnell and had a small fish but no keepers. the 10fter and 9.8 Tohatsu handle the chop better than what i expected Moved to the racks for a fish and got nice 2 nice bream and some more small whiting ( including a double hook-up) came home around sunset after a brilliant arvo on the water.
  11. probally around $2800 without a trailer just what other similar boats, like that, go for
  12. the 9.8HP is mounted on a 10ft light weight and pulls about 18 knots cruise and i would say 21-23 at wot but it gets scary then. the crab was the fullest crab i have ever caught and the flatty had alot of meat and all tasted very good. I will go to the runway and molinoix point one day but i will try the hot water outlet and sticks till i get confident to go all the way accross the bay.
  13. Went out to day to start runnning in the new tohatsu 9.8 on the 10ft lightweight (one fast boat) Was thinking about calling it quits at the ramp as it was slightly raining, but decided to go for it. Cruised from tom uglys to oatly and anchored up for a fish near the baths/park for one flathead 39cm. Moved to east of como bridge for a snapper of 27cm. Went to run the motor again and it is as smooth as a bird off to taren point for some small whiting and small snapper. Went to chech the crab trap for a Big blue swimmer (PB) was a very good day with the new motor and some fish for dinner hope to see you out there
