  6. Doesnt matter whos doing what..........it is great to see the little guys out there catching fish!!!!!..... gives me the most joy to see my boy pull in a fish no matter what it is or its size!
  7. I got one half the size of that (the baby one in the foto some posts back)!!!! it jumped out of my hand and spiked me in the vain in the wrist,,, blood oozing out everywhere while trying to keep fishing....
  8. I have a Garmin GPSMAP550s (which is the superseded model but pretty much the same) It has worked great for me with NO problems, it is very easily upgraded via a download from the garmin website,,,, FUNNY THOUGH I problably wouldnt buy one again, I havent used many other sounders but I just feel there are better sounders out there, from what i have seen, i would like to buy a Lowrance HDS7, but I have heard that they have water proofing issues, they may have since fixed the problem, maybe somebody can can comment on their own experience, and better a 'user' comment and not a shop as a shop may be biased
  9. kinda like the length of a piece of string.........but I would say about 800KGs

    Boat License

I got mine at the boat show!!!! which is coming up!!!!...............Forgot to mention it was my 3rd go at it and I STUDIED for it!!!
  16. Ive been out further than that in a 4.5mtr boat, BUT it was a very calm day and at 20kms out it was more calm than what it was 3kms out, also you MUST make sure you have ample fuel to get out to browns mountain and back plus moving around out there fuel, i would estimate you would need at least 100ltrs of fuel, my 4.5mtr boat does approx 2.5kms per litre (55HP 2 stroke Yamaha) your boat would be a little less i would say with a bigger motor and more weight.......
  17. Unfortunately Im still learning (Ive only been fishing 4 years), it takes along time to 'discover' the better places to fish that havent already been thrashed out, the skills you guyz have learnt I'm sure have taken many years. Im sure as you have,, I have came back to the boat ramp very dis-heartened after a hard day of bugger-alls,,, (funny because it is totally the opposite of that full of fire feeling you have when you on your way out fishing,, you dream of catching 20KG somethings and have to bring your credit card out at the bait shop coz the guy behind the counter got you pumped!!) Im sure I will learn the ropes in good time,,,, It is very spoilling to go to a place where it pretty well doenst matter what you throw out, you hook up,, which happens every time I have fished at EDEN
  18. 1st one I got was on 10KG line no leader and a Bozo Kruncher soft plastic Shimano Baitrunner 4500 6-10KG silstar rod the rest were all on 10KG line, 1.5mtr 30KG leader and 150Gram Jigs We lost a few jigs on the bottom being reefed
  19. Its great to see your kids catching fish.....no better feeling!!!!!!!

    Eden

Head to Mowarry Point there is a nice reef about 100metres directly north of the Rocks that sit out in the water off Mowarry,or you can head down to Green cape (there is a lighthouse) about maybe 1 km back from Green cape,,,(Green cape is maybe 25kms from Eden boatramp, Mowarry point is about 10kms) ,,Just a hint there are many commercial fisherman down there normally fishing both those spots, they are all in smaller boats 6-7 meters,, some have bigger boats small trawlers,,, look out for where they are,,,,,,Where they are is normally where the fish are!!!!! The fishing down there is nothing like Sydney, there is an abundance of fish there,, if you look up one of my posts you'll see the amount of Kingfish I caught there(with others) at easter....Not sure if the Kinghys are still there thou
  21. I was my boat out after every trip,,,i have marine carpet in it,,,,after washing it I put the jockey wheel of the trailer on a Milk crate to give the front of the boat extra height,,, normally after 2 days the carpet is dry idolz
  22. Hi this is a late post......as Im looking to get an electric anchor for my boat,,,, I was wondering if anybody has had their electric anchor stuck on the bottom??? idolz
  23. Parking free????.....the parking is new and improved now!!!!!! ...with meters,,,,and "bombers" [people that take on that job purely for job satisfaction] circling... If you find the Squashed Ford festiva on the middle of the roundabout you have found the right pier.....
  24. Pier 2.......Nearly under sydney harbour bridge (about 100metres past it) right off the end off it, i fish on the RH side of it) I have seen Kingfish, flathead, Trevally, blackfish, bream caught off there (many Yakkas too),,,,, i have also seen about 50 ppl fishing off there about 7pm one nite too, it gets busy
