  1. No not at all, the only other 2 fish I saw were 2 Bonito, one I had on got him to the surface (on a 150Gm Jig) was about 50-60cms but he busted off, and one smaller Bonito in the photos, other than that it was Kinghys every time you hooked up...ah we saw many tax men (SEALS) out there!!!
  2. We had my wife, my fisheries mates' 2 sons (two of their friends were with us after we picked them up from Surfing Saltwater Creek, they both got their first kinghys aswell), as well as himself, myself and my mate I bought from Sydney fishing over the weekend, we only kept about 20 fish,,, there is NO way my fishing inspector mate is going to fish outside the rules........Sorry about the 3 of us, yeah it was 3 of us on the boat all the time, but we had other people fishing with us on various days........ To be technical I guess, they were all (20 kinghys) in 2 fridges/freezers who were owned by the one person?
  3. JIGGING only (except the first one I got 84cm on a BOZO 250mm blue and white Kruncher soft plastic), we lost about 10 jigs all weekend, 90% of the time was incompetence of myself or my more incompetent mate i took down there, My Eden fisheries mate was pissed at us, every time we lost a jig, I spent a shit load of money in that tackle shop when we were there!!!!! but it was more than worth it,,, I have NEVER seen Kingfish on, in or out of Botany Bay/Sydney like they were on down there, we could have stayed there all day and bagged out eveyday, we fished about 3-4 hours each day, honestly your arms are knackered after pulling in 10-15 of them!!!!!
  4. Gee you know your fishing (Austwave)!!!!!!!! yeah the big ones come from Mowarry, and shit when they were on we had triple hook ups.... non stop! the smaller ones from Mowarry were 80 plus Cms,,,, we fished just north of Greencape and hooked up nearly every drop, but the fish were only just size with the biggest ones there only 80cms,,, my Mate who invited us down there is one of the Fisheries inspectors there, he knows how to fish!!!! And no way were undersize ones getting a look in! (even the ones 70cms went back!!) My wife caught her first 2 kinghys ever, she struggled to get them up though she is a small girl!
  5. Had a great fish this easter weekend at Eden!!!!!! First time in my life I was knackered from pulling in fish!!!!!!!!! We (3 of us) caught about 45 Kinghys all weekend, 1 Bonito, we threw back anything under 70cms (We kept about 20...keeping under the 5 per day per person rule), the biggest one caught was 97cms and 7Kgs, the second biggest was one I caught and a PB 92cms and 6.2Kgs, shit I had some fun!!!!!! My japanese wife was too lazy to cook tonite so we ate one raw!!!! sushumi
  6. HEE HEE........, I take people out in my boat with my rods, the bait I bought, my berley, the exact same rigs,,,,,they catch all the fish and I catch bugger all......
  7. The Hoax caller needs to be used for burley.............
  8. As for the sticks in Botany Bay Im sure Scotty Lyons ( the new fishraider sponsor) can shed some light on this one as I see him hanging around them often, but my suggestion of 300 or so metres from the oil wharf at a Brighton le Sands-San Souci direction isnt far off either!
  9. "The colours" that I suggested, about 500 metres off the Gap and a touch further south was the GPS co-ords I got from a GPS markers book, I have searched GPS fishing markers (in books and on the interent) and YES I seem to have quite a few different Co-ords for the apparent same place,,, Was funny coz one, "The Colours" GPS co-ord had the reef out from the Northern Sydney head, which I knew wasnt right. The Reef I suggested holds Kingfish!!!!, I have never caught one there, but last time I was there, there were about 20-30 boats sitting on the place I suggested, with every boat Jigging like bastards, including myself. Now Im only a learner to the fishing scene, but if 20-30 boats are sitting there Jigging only (no other method being used) then it tells me they know there are Kingfish there........or we are all just sheep....*smile*
  10. I fish the spots you guys do and have the better of luck, of any other place, was funny it sounded much the way I fish around the bay!! I fish the small reef jus south of the South head of Botany Bay it ALWAYS holds some good fish, I got busted off there by a approx 75cm Kinghy I had him to the surface when he made a last lundge at my anchor rope and snagged me!!! Great fishing and good fun...keep it up!
  11. Ive broken 2 Rods one of my mates Silstar powertips,,,(When I was starting out fishing) I got it snagged on the bottom and used the rods curving finess to get it off the bottom, the rod didnt like it.......snap, I now know better than to flex the rod to pull it off a snag,, I bought him a new rod,....... the second was also when I was learning, went into ****** to try the flex on a Shimano Andrew Ettinhhausen thang, over flexed it and snap, my wife took off down the isle, with me following,........... didnt think much of those rods anyway!!!! *smile*
  12. Went out at 6am collected some Yakkas, and headed outside Botany Bay (22mtrs deep), 2 rods out with paternosters(the ones with the feather at the back of the hooks) rigs went out to the bottom, one livey out and two of us spinning soft plastics (BOZOS 150mm, blue and whites and the green/red ones), within 15 mins both Paternosters went off mine first, 6Kg line/ lightish gear, was a kinghy got him to the surface, I estimated him to be 70-75cm, until he made a last dive with my reel screamin, and him snagging me on my own anchor rope,,, i wanted to give myself an uppercut for letting him do that!!!!....so pissed!!, The other rod was a just over 30cm Tailor my adopted learner pulled in, 10 mins later my reel was screamin again on the baitrunner, pulled in a nice Moey 38cms, and then a small leather Jacket. My adopted learner may have had a hand in us getting a few, as he had been burleying up for the past 30mins (2 regurgitated Sausage McMuffins and hash browns)........now he was dry reaching i thought i had better move him back to calmer waters, We drifted around Bare island, flicking soft plastics (The Bozo's Kruncher 150mm) after about 20 casts, bang i was onto a Kinghy again, this one didnt feel as big as the last one,,,,,,, and little bugger busted me off. I have fotos, but cant work out how to resize them down to 100k, easily.
  13. Caught 7 leather jackets last sunday on top of Watts reef, between 8-9am......... ....I go fishing to get away from the wife!!!!!!!!!
  14. """Fire extinguisher (vessels with electric start, electric motors, gas or fuel stoves)""" straight off the MARITIME website,,,, better carry one anyway.....but dont forget the Maritime arsoles cruise around and check if the fire extinguisher had been checked or it is still in date, if it isnt you cop a fine.....

    Fuel Question

I mix at 100:1 for a Yamaha but I think a Johnson is at 50:1 so that is 10 litres of petrol to 200ml of oil, it dosent hurt to put 10 or 20ml extra oil in to be on the safe side either
