  8. I still got my Daily telegraph lure in its packet,,,,,its sitting on the shelf in my office,,, I often look at as I walk in and wonder if it could actually catch a fish.......
  9. I fished 50 metres off the gap 2 weeks ago in about 6-8 metres( I could see the bottom) had about 100 kinghys there chase my bait/lure/soft plastic/ jig but none would take it,,,, the buggers followed them all the way to the boat every time
  10. there is a new place in Kurnell with dry storage
  11. Chastity belts are the go!!!!!
  12. I have a 6.5 mtr plate boat,, i certainly dont have 10mtrs of chain, as im the poor bastard that has to pull the anchor up!!! I would say I would only have about 2 metres maybe 3 with a 14Lb anchor (I think) I normally hook up pretty quick,, I agree with Musty get a bigger anchor, less chain and let the rope out a fair bit so the angle of the anchor is lower.

    EPIRB registration

The cheaper 'Orange' GME EPIRB (the one that sells for about $299) is the standard EPIRB which yes can take up to 5 hours for the satelites to get your signal,, and when it does get your signal it could be up to 5Kms out,,,from where you actually are The Yellow GME EPIRB (the one that is about ($600-$700) has a built in GPS in it and normally will locate you with in minutes and with in 50 metres of where you are. If you check the GME website you will find out all the details.
  14. I have a 2006 Stessco 625 Shotgun 5mm Plate with a 2006 135HP Evinrude (not the Etec)it does 55-60km per hour with a full tank of fuel(200ltrs), the engine is a great match for my boat, as I really dont need to be travelling any faster,, but I dont think a motor any smaller would suffice.. I use approx 1 litre of fuel per 1km travelled, I normally travel flatout if i can (safely,,,, and hence the reason i dont need a bigger motor) im sure i could get a touch better fuel economy if i backed off a little,, maybe 1.5kms per litre of fuel. My boat weighs approx 1500Kgs complete.... and just under 2000Kgs with the trailer, My boat purrs like a cat but does seem to chew the 2 stroke oil (on calculation though it seems to be correct) I use Valvoline HP 2 Stroke outboard oil,,, I think it is semi Synthetic?? I think it costs about $35 for 4 litres (I buy a box of 4 at a time)
  15. My friend has the same 5MTR QUINTREX Freedom Sport,,,, The one thing I HATE about his boat is YOU GET VERY WET IN IT,,, he only has a Bimni cover not any clears on the sides,,, but every time I go fishing in his boat we come back wet! My mates boat IS NOT the Millenium hull it is the 1999 or the year before the Millenium hull was bought out...
  16. Sorry about the non productive comment... .......but dump the bike,, and whoever rides it take them fishing instead!!!!
  17. I also have the same as CUT LOOSE only 6 (these are great when underway but these are a pain in the arse when your fishing,, I then move these rods up onto the Rocket launchers when fishing),, BUT I also bought 2 sets of rod holders (which hold 5 rods) which I cut down a little and I have mounted them horizontal, if you look at Cut looses' boat (my boat is nearly the same set up) I have 3 rods sitting in behind the 3 rods he has standing up only mine are horizontal,,,going from where he has a knife mounted going forward (2 rods face one way and the rod in the middle faces the other)......and then the same on the other side. NOW the rod holders i bought are the best because they are adjustable,,, they are on an Aluminium track and the rod holder 'loops' and 'hooks' have an allen key in the middle and you can slide the loop or hook up or down and then lock it off in the position you like. here is a link to see the rod holder http://cgi.############/ROD-RACK-FISHING-ROD-HOLDER-AND-STORAGE-SYSTEM-/280649521168?pt=AU_Accessories_Tackle&hash=item415803d810 You can call me 0414334412 if you need advise as to how i did mine or if you would like to see my boat how they fit??? Anthony
  18. This may sound silly,, but check you have wired it to 'direct power',,, some people wire their sounder to the power on the ignition switch which can be interupted on some models of outboard, when the key/switch is turned/moved from the 'on' position to the 'start' position and then as it moves back to the 'on' position....
  19. ... .........After they turn into females,,, much bigger than that.... and they turn into horses!!!!!! Awesum catch!!!!
  20. "The photos are terrible"..... I wouldnt mind havin my dial in there!!!!! Glad to see somebody's catching some real fish!!!!!
  21. I learnt a similar lesson years ago,,,, never buy cheap shite when ur fishing,,, it takes SO much time/ preparation to just actually get out there on the water for starters,,,, to only sit there for 2 or 3 hours and have some gear fail and you lose the best chance you had this year!!! that would really pisz me,,, ...., Im quite capable of losing the fish myself with out the gear failling!!!!!!! Im yet to catch a green eyed monster,,, would love to snag one!! Great catch anyways!!!

  24. I had that prix brother taxing my fish today down south of Cronulla,,,2 bait schools took off,,, and the rubbish reefers i was throwing back were entree's for him.... we moved too,,, dunno whats worse, Seals taxing what you catch or those bloody black birds that dive down and tax ur bait on the way down,,,, caught a pelican that dived on my pilly,,,, wasnt easy pulling him in from 20 metres in the air...."comment edited for the greenies vote in the up an coming election" DONT FORGET TO VOTE WITH YOUR HEAD!
