1. Evening all.I'm getting back into biking again after a few years off and I like the idea of camping down by the creek and going fishing.I want to have a go at Bass,Trout,Yellow Belly etc. I'm not looking for spot x or third tree on the left information, but I would like any information on areas or sites that fellow raiders have been to and can recommend. The bike will have off road capabilities so I can get off the beaten track to that special river or waterfall etc.Like I said Im not asking for your Honey hole just some rough areas.I live on NSW Central Coast so I was thinking Barrington Tops as a starting point. All help appreciated.PMs ok if you don't want to post. Tight lines Stu.
2. Go for it you Pommie Bast@$d. This is light humer not me being raciest.
3. So much for the B/S we get told on the fishing shows about how the hook will dissolve in a few days and fall out,
4. I like Owner Owner Mosquito hooks.I use various sizes 2,1,1/0.For a better price on these get them on line from the good old US of A in the pro pack range.
5. As I said, don't use after market impellers, its false economy.

Customizing

Google Baitmate.
7. Mate I have a 475 Ally craft Bar Raider with a 70 Yam on the back. Its not a Bow rider but I would imagine its the same hull though.I like my boat, perfomance is good, hole shot is good, top end is good.ride is good,The only real fault I have with it is stability at rest. Its a dog...it rocks and rolls all over the place, you have to be careful using a landing net as two people on side can can be a bit dangerous also if your fishing mate moves to your side and you are not ready it can be a bit hairy. Apart from that I love it.
8. My advise is go with a genuine Yamie impeller.I went through 3 after market impellers in 18 months. The genuine Yamie one has been in for two years and still going strong.
9. Up current side means in front of the structure,ie cubing back onto a reef.Or it anchored and flicking for Flatties you anchor off a rear cleat so the current is hitting the back of the boat and you cast back upstream and bounce it back to the boat.
10. Far better than Bream IMHO.Crumbed fillets are great.
11. I know of 3 that live at the Rip Bridge.
12. I often wonder this point. Not including the seasonal fish ie Bonito,Salmon Tuna, etc that follow temp and current up and down the coast.Where do the pigs/blackfish go for example.Winter is their time so where are they in the warmer months. They have to eating somewhere,so why cant we fish for them there, they have to be around some place. Also where do the Jews go?do they head up stream or do they head out to sea, they have to be somewhere,,,,,,Buggered if I can find them though.
13. Heaps of Squid around West reef.Tailor,Salmon.Never caught a rat though.Plenty of big Bream around the Bommie if you are brave enough to anchor sea side of the bommie just out from the wash.Becarefull of the no fish zone though as it goes right through the bommie and up to third point.Dont know about the 3 wrecks though, never heard of them unless your talking about The Valliant.
14. Just make sure those pvc pipes are secure boys,I would hate to read on the next post that you lost a rod...
15. Forster. If the winds up fish the lake for Flatties and blackfish ,Out the front in the washes for Bream and Pigs,Night time Jew on the breakwll. And Salmon and Tailor off the beaches. Just my 2 bobs worth though.
16. North Wambi beach up by the rocks is ok for Salmon
17. Halftide rocks at Ettalong, chuck plastics as you walk up and down the channel.Good for flatties.
18. Mate ,they eat cat s%!t and drink out of puddles,a few salted pillies wont hurt.Mine love Salmon heads, they can chew on one for hours.
19. What a way to spend a holiday.
It reminds me of my youth climbing North Berwick Law at Easter time.
20. Mate don't get too caught up on the pimping thing.Think long and hard on the style of fishing you want to do and set up accordingly for that.A mate of mine on the coast is a gun at Flatties,he bags out just about every time he goes out.But he only uses plastics and has a basic tinny, two rod holders,a keeper net and a flat floor[which I broke when I fell over]
Again think first.
Regards Stu.
21. I got one in Brisbane Waters two years ago while chasing Jews. Also a Cobia, but still only one bloody Jew though.
22. Mate, don't need blades for Salmon.Park on the Southern side at Reids Reserve car park and walk along the break wall until you reach the point where the bay is{20-30 mtr}Use a light beach rod and smash out chrome slices{I like the ones with the angled hole in them and with the small piece of red plastic on it}Smash it out as far as you can and vary your retrieve. At this time of the year you will get Salmon...I like incoming tide best. Becarefull, if you let it sink to far you will loose it on the bottom. Regards Stu.
23. I'm trying to work out what it is.Looks like a Suzuki tank with a Yamaha 500 twin.
24. The problem I have found with home made scent/attractant is keeping it on the lure. After one or two casts its all washed off compared to S-Factor which has a grease like consistency. But in my opinion I don't think it makes a difference in the catch rate. I think its all about marketing. I would like to see some test results from the suppliers showing two people at the same time using the same rigs but the only difference is s-factor or magic spray,I would bet my left nut the catch rate is the same.
