  1. Goodluck noah, hope you get amongst them if you end up going. It,s good to see fellow raiders are catching a few already. chris
  2. The bay can be very dangerous in a southerly , always think safety before a fish. Up river is always fishable on any southerly and is the best option . You will find plenty upstream to keep the day entertaining. chris
  3. Very nice catch, you can,t go wrong fishing abbotsford wharf it seems as alot of people fish there. chris.
  4. Great catch, well worth the wait Sure is a well fed bream looks very fat. chris
  5. Congratulations, dream catch in everyones minds would love one like that in my boat makes trolling so rewarding to see fish of that calibre off sydney. Lets hope this is a kind year to all who venture out chris
  6. I prefer fishing into channels and drop offs close to there feeding grounds(sand bars, nipper grounds, mangroves)i use paternoster rig in these areas 28gm sinker. Like last night i could only find them in close to the rocks , in this situation cast really close to the rocks unweighted and if there are bream around you,ll soon see drag screaming, make sure you use strong leader as the big ones grab and run hard. Also put green glow beads on i never fish without them. chris
  7. Hi peter, along the rocks i use 20lb flurocarbon trace doubled at the end with one hook (SIZE 1)PLUS A GLOW BEAD i use large baits. Some strikes last night were huge , going upstream on the run , the leader was no match to the oysters though on the rocks Fishing in the channel 6lb is more than adequite , but couldn,t find them at all there last night. chris
  8. Fishing definately becomes tougher in the winter months, catching becomes secondary when you,ve got your son on board. Hopefully you will land a few nice fish next trip chris
  9. Great exercise walking to and from the spot , i hate the rope part , climbing up and down the ledge especially the first time 5am morning trip. chris
  10. Very lucky not to be bitten . Hope i never see one while fishing but it just goes to show how easy an emergency can arise. Enjoy the feed GREAT CATCH. chris
  11. Sounds like you had a sensational day. Good luck with the surgeon fish. I don't mind a good feed of blackfish myself Chris
  12. Excellent catch. Berowra Waters is definately a great part of the Hawkesbury system to fish. Nice looking fillets....bet they tasted great. Chris
  13. Hi Raiders Hit my usual, the Port Hacking, last night for another bream session. Started a bit late, fishing on the out tide but was confident to get a few. Arriving at my usual spot baited and casted in my rods and found it very quiet in the first hour with only a few undersize fish and one keeper so decided to go in close to the rock ledges and fish right up close to them using floater baits. Over the next hour and a half I managed some more keeper bream losing quite a few very decent ones to the rocks. Water temperature last night was noticed to be very cold more so than the last trip. All decent fish were found to be right up close next to the rocks. Got out of the Hacking just before the rain started to come down heavy. Not looking forward to the cold winter months Chris
  14. Good luck on the groper they sure are fun to target. You will have no problems catching them on cunji , don,t just fish in close as i,ve caught plenty on a wide cast from the rocks also.Although the ledge would be 5m up so i had plenty of lifting power. They sure are a beautiful fish, look forward to seeing your posts. chris
  15. Anthony i,m in if FR Organise a comp. Met up with hawkesbass few weeks back to fish sydney harbour i saw another group catch a bream using prawns over the 50cm mark , would love to see one from the hacking as most hit the 31-37cm mark , this itch keeps me trying as theres got to be one there somewhere, tight lines chris.
  16. Awsome catch, you definately have the bream in the hawkesbury eating out of the palm of your hand Can,t wait to try my bream spot there chris
  17. Thanks for the reply i,m yet to buy a teaser and your set up sounds perfect Never heard of polu kai lures will look at those also,i,ve been using black magic sauries in 7" i find the lures fine but hooks needed replacing with better quality. Good luck on the next Marlin chris.

  19. Very nice Good work on the hairtail,i still need to get the monkey off my back. Was out there last season for zero,s That pike eel brings back memories i had one on my line years back in the georges river it was huge and they go crazy once hooked,i got it boat side and there was no way that thing was coming aboard , they are nice in colour though my wife was in the boat that night so you can only imagine the noise when it was boat side .Hope you catch alot more hairtail on your next trip. chris
