  1. Hi Raiders Went down for a fish the last two nights to challenge the Bream in Port Hacking. Found it really nice having no wind but with the full moon it was definately going to be a challenge. Hit all my regular spots and found fish at most spots. Plenty of undersized Snapper, Bream and Taylor showing up but still managed to catch my target species....Big Bream . Most fish action came from 2 hours short of high tide to just before the tide change. Plenty of burley was used and large bonito fillets as bait (how could they resist ). Made my wife very happy last night as she really loves her Bream, we're having it for dinner tonight. Chris
  2. Great work The first jew always seems impossible to catch,it can be frustrating especially seeing other reports and your out chasing your first. Good on you nathan for sharing your passion Mick, hope you nail a trophy fish on your next jew session. chris

  4. Classic ,mate you deserved a full eskey load of fish after all that. Don,t worry about leaving bungs out as most of us did it when we started out but you should of just screwed them in and pumped/bailed water out . One thing you should look into though is your trailer wheel bearings as alot of people come un stuck not keeping them in good order, hope the next trip goes smooth For sea sickness have your mate take kwell sea sick pills and he should be fine. chris

  9. Head down to bias boating and buy high strength epoxy filler+ hardener compound(sold individually in cans 1KG and 500GMS,product name is norfill. Also buy white brush flowcoat comes in 1L can and small bottle of hardener to suit.(coulor additives needed if gel coat isn,t bright white to change pigment of flowcoat ) Mix epoxy/hardener together fill hole and leave to dry. Sand repair to shape required,Now mix flow coat/hardener and brush over repair to suit, can thin product down with acetone if needed before brushing over repair. Once dry approx 24hrs sand repair lightly with 400 wet and dry sand paper in soapy water followed by a sand using 1200 sand paper. Finally buff repair by hand using t cut polish bought from super cheaps for a full gloss finish. Hope this helps with the repair chris.

  16. Congratulations and welcome to the jewfish addiction. I see nothing wrong keeping legal fish for the table,i guess the fisho at the wharf must catch 10kg+ jews on every trip. As for the eating quality they are fine FRESH just put in the oven and bake whole. Keep the reports coming mate definately a good time for jew in the hacking next couple of days , Goodluck. chris.

  19. Nice session on the sharks , great fun and top feed if you decide to keep one for the table. What species were caught? chris
  20. Brian don,t put too many squid together in one live bait tank if you want to keep them in A1 condion as they are very territorial. Keeping the water recirculating/changed is very important to keep the oxygen supply flowing. For presentation of my live bait squid i use only 1 hook on small squid as they present and stay alive longer, and for a good sized squid i snell rig the squid bottom hook in the part that emits the ink and top hook through top of hood making sure the hook sizes suit bait also for maximum presentation. As long as that squid is glowing and changing colour your bait presentation is spot on. Even when handled correctly and rigged correctly they can die easly especially small squid , but it is still by far supreme bait. chris
