  1. Make he never said you did make up a lie, but it has happened in the past but if you read through carefully admin gave you the benefit of the doubt...... 1.3 metre kings are very very very rare in sydney and this should teach you, dont report on a fish until you have sighted the photo Other then that....nice fish
  2. Jervis Bay, all types of fish from Kings, Marlin and YFT.....love it

    Well done Stev......
  4. Good news Sammy, I was keeping an eye out for you in the harbour but couldnt spot you, obviously cause you were in the bay.... The etec does suit the boat
  5. Mate clifton gardens is an awesome spot land based. even when we have a boat we normally drop off a sqiddewr there to have a go. Lately i also heard watsons bay has a few squid around aswell as lady jane beach
  6. Mate to be honest i have ever used a dead Yakka/Mack......It would be hard....i probably would fillet it if i did and rig it the same way i rig the squid strip.....don't know how well it would work but all you could do is try.
  7. So hard to gauge......For smaller braids i prefer tufline XP but for 60lb and over i like Daiwa Sensor and Varivas
  8. Mate i have an busy weekend planned, Fishing the harbour tomorrow morning for some kings, Then picking up my new motorbike tomorrow afternoon and playing golf on sunday morning......
  9. Mate it can be done quite easily, i prefer to used strips instead of full squid when using deadbaits, this is how i do it and it works well for me. THis is a video steve and i made a while back http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x310/ne...=Picture120.flv hope that helps
  10. Mate i am very anti Etec but as i said from experience, personal experience, however, as you have stated, they are some very happy etecs owners too like Ross, i have notice the happy owners all have under 115 hp...How big is yours?? Mate the main issues has been the motors not being good with the fuel, 6 of them are wasting heaps of fuel, even after quite a few prop changes, My mates boat which has been discussed to death was a bad case. Also BAd service from BRP themselves, probably some bad dealers too, One etec was blowing so much smoke the driver could barely breath, As recent as last week a member here which i was chatting to on the phone said he regreted buying his as after a few outings the engine has lost heaps of power compared to when it was first put on. A couple of them have also had power head issues,.... There is no right or wrong when it comes to 4 Stroke or Etec, All we can do is judge from our own experiences and im just stating mine...
  11. Unfortunately personal experience has made me dislike the Etec's, from all the people i know who have had one its a 50/50 split on happy and unhappy people, It seems the bigger ones, 150hp+ have more issues where as the smaller ones under 100hp seem to be very good......hard to gauge i guess but as i have stated previously, I have rarely heard an unhappy Suzuki/Yammi 4 stroke owner, I have heard well over 10 unhappy/regretful etec owners, and thats out of around 20 etec owners i know
  12. She is looking great, looking forward to the next set of pics
  13. Very interesting article....i guess we will now in 3-5 years if the motors have a long life as they are a untested technology in comparison to four strokes.
  14. Good Stuff Penguin, mate i think your moorings will be like Pitt St this weekend now, hope we see some good fish pulled
  15. As stated already they are a good allround reel with the Shimano baitrunner being the most popular... They are a medium priced reel use by alot of anglers......They were one of my first reels which i did use for beach fishing but since then i have upgraded to better reels.

    Monster Of The Deep

Well picked up mate, i was positive i had seen that pic before....
  17. The Tyrnos is a better reel then the TLD, I have never been a big fan on the TLD's, they are made of a weaker material and do often bend under pressure from a larger fish, The Tyrnos is stronger
  18. Mate in regards to the tide, They can be caught at any tide, i too once believed that the best time was 1 hour before and one hour after but experience has taught me otherwise, Kings can be caught on any tide, any weather any day of the year......its just a matter of getting your fresh bait and going to the regurlar kingy haunts, We have about 15 kingy spots for the harbour that we check every trip, we have never come back empty handed as always one of these haunts has had kings on them. Just persist with the squid as squid will make the difference between cathing 1 king or 20 kings in a trip.... As the weather warms up and if you still havent got kingy i will take you out on my boat and get you one.
  19. Mate wrecks were mentioned but what he said doesnt apply only to wrecks.....lets say the Wedding cake for example.......are u telling me that because a boat may be anchored near it i amj supposed to stay 40 metres away.....that means i cant fish the wedding cake at all...... Remember people that you fish in one of the busiest cities in the world when it comes to water craft....Sydney harbour especially....stop being selfish and allow other types of fishos to enjoy it aswell... I have never got caught in a anchor rope but if i did whats the big issue.....i will reverse and get it....were not animals.....its happens.....we fix it and go about our fishing again.....some people just have to loosen up and remember fishing is a recreational activity
  20. Mate i know that many dr's do go quite close to anchored boats but at times ( not always) i have done it aswell, mainly because there are certain people out there who seem to like anchoring right on top of a wreck....If someone anchors on a wreck they should expect other boats to come close to them..... Thats the beauty of Downrigging or trolling.......you are paying others respect in not sitting on top of a prime fishing location and making impossible for others to fish...... Downrigging is a part of fishing in Sydney now and it is done quite often...what i would say is learn to live with it...or as they say.....if you cant beat em join em......
  21. Red and white CD-9's are the best out of the Rapala series, but they dont always work
  22. The best advice i can give you is dont start downrigging until you have caught squid......yakkas and slimeys are no where near as good and are a easy way out.....keep trying for squid until you have a few and then start downrigging......
  23. Mate the Tyrnos single speed isnt the ideal game set up as it has a very high gear ratio.........high speed reels are not recommend for game fishing as they are not good at pulling up the heavier fish.....I caught a 30kg YFT on a single speed tyrnos 30 and had a very hard time due to the higher ratio
