  1. Hey Penguin, How u been mate? The 50W LRSA is designed for 80lb Line and the 50WA is designed for 24kg..... The main difference is that each click of the drag on the LRSA applies about 30% more drag then each click of the 50WA.
  2. Both are very good reels and both will do a very good job....... All the Daiwa fans are gonna say exist...... All the shimano fans are gonna say Stella...... And in the end its gonna be a shit fight and the thread is gonna get closed
  3. Wow, they have put it back in pretty early
  4. Mate a downrigger is designed for this purpose
  5. We have always use 1.8 to 2.0 jigs and always caught good numbers of squid....
  6. Hate both teams but i hate Manly more....so go the Storm...
  7. Mate i use 1.8 and 2.0 ....rarely use any bigger....But i get all my squid over kelp beds in about 5-10ft of water so any heavier would be snagging up all the time......Mate stick to Yamashita and Yozuri.....they are the best and as they say "if it aint broke don't fix it"
  8. I have also seen them for year and never purchased them as they dont come in smaller sizes
  9. Mate the slower the better, some boats naturally go too fast, even if they are just in gear, Im lucky enough that my boat goes around 0.5 knots in gear...very slow which makes it ideal for downrigging...
  10. Awesome stuff Anthony, very well done
  11. Mate this type of thread has been argued over for a while, go through the history and you will see heaps of it......this thread will cause nothin but arguements
  12. Personally i own a Stessco 475 Hussar, Nice boat but as Huey said there are better boats out there... My boat is 6 years old now and i have had welds repaired 3 times.......Its also not the smoothest ride around...compared to Stacers and quinnys my ride is quite bumpy..

    Jigging Outfit

Mate go with a Eggbeater as overheads are not the best to jig with......and the z series Saltiga's do not have a rachet built in which dont make them the best downrigging reels, You can be navigating through some moorings and not keeping an eye on the rod and then a kingy hits and you would never know. A rachet is a must for downriging if you plan to do it alone or if your like me and my mates where we are more focused on where we are going and chatting away then watching the rod like a hawk Ditch the Jigwrex as they are too stiff, Replace the sustain with a Saragosa and then whack it on a T-Curve Jigstick.....awesome outfit that was designed for jigging and would double up for Livebaiting and downrigging no problem.
  14. Imporved Allbright....only way to go
  15. Good Stuff Buddy....nice fish...may have to get out there myself

    Tabs Boats

Tabs are good boats but as mentioned by Anthony they are a bit bumpy, i have been on better riding alum boats......
  17. Off Sydney heads it is about 30kms, Off botany heads its about 26kms
  18. Good job Miller, Your still the king of squidn bud
  19. The co-ordinates john has put up and are not the marks i used, those marks arent even in the correct Datum..WGS84 only has 2 digit in the second set of digits...I have no idea what they are.... The photos were taken in front on Clontarf...But anyone who fishes with me knows after we fish we always end up at Clifton Gardens for a Bagette and Coffee...every trip without fail....its a tradition..... MOst people know i dont hide my catch locations as i post videos in many reports with the backgrounds clearly visable...this time the video footage wasnt taken....but i promise i will next time and the cluey people can figure out the exact location in the bay
  20. Robbie you and your crew are a perfect example of "hard work breeds results" You guys cleaned up on the kings last season...awesome work
  21. Mate in all honesty as said before you have been given a area of where the fish are, Im definately not teasing, Teasing would be me showing the fish and saying I caught in in the harbour somewhere...I gave u a location, What else do you want.....You only are a new member and have only posted twice, Contribute a little more and im sure you will get exact co-ordinates You probably only joined in the hope of getting co-ordinates, doesnt work that way buddy,
  22. Mate Midday sunday was quite nice and warm, otherwise i too would be freezing.... In regards to spot X, Mate there is no such thing, species like kings move around heaps and where you get em this week wont be where you get them next week. When i post reports i always like to refer to the locations where i caught the fish rather being all secretive and using Spot X, Y or Z.... The wreck can be found by using your sounder and putting in a little hard work, I wont devulge its exact location but the bay aint that big, im sure you will find it..... If you look at my videos and pics the backgrounds will indicate where the fish where caught, i never go out of my way to hide locations.....Also look at some diving sites, they have some wreck co-ordinates
