    Berkley Fireline

really why is that? i didnt even notice ....so thats how they justify the extra $$ bit steep considering its only 25yards
  15. Hi guys just noticed that apart from the 2 department stores the majority of tackle stores sell different colours of berkley firleline in the same LB rating at different prices. For example in several stores i have seen evertyhing from 4LB to 10LB in smoke and flame green for less than $20. However the pink in the same LB ratings sell for $30. Is there any reason for this? Is the strength of the pink stronger than the other 2 colours, because i thought the only difference was the dye? If not is there any other reason that would justify paying an extra $12 for the pink? Cheers

    Buying A New Reel

Well after much deliberation i decided to spend the day looking for a new bream combo. With my mate mickysacca as a 2nd opinion with visited 2 major tackle stores in our area and then made the trip to our site sponsors ABA. May i say the extra drive was well worth it the prices and service provided by Mick at ABA were much better then anything else i had seen prior. Jig em rigs were half the price of the other place and after the fishraider discount Berkley Gulps wer $4 a bag cheaper. But what i really appreciated was the service, I was made to feel like a moron at the 2 other stores where i experienced everything from patronised to being pushed into looking at higher end gear. Thanks Mick for your no bullshit approach and for the good deal on the new setup. Ended up going for Pflueger Trion 7'0" High Modulus Graphite 2-5kg Shimano Sienna 2500 Thanks to all those raiders who added there 2 cents to the thread to help me come to my decision Cheers

    Buying A New Reel

So the general consensus is to steer clear of the lower range of penn and daiwa and go for something in shimano in the $100 range? BTW would like to get it spooled with 6lb fireline for the money aswell so $100 including line. Cheers

    Buying A New Reel

  22. Thanks Stew Picked up a 4g one in pink with black stripes, if you dont mind me asking what other colours and sizes are you having success on? Cheers
  23. Hi Guys Im in the market for a new spinning reel and yesterday in a certain department store i seen the following reels on special, and thought they represented good value for money. Daiwa samurai 3i 2500 $45 Penn captiva cv2000 $55 I want something that can do a bit everything including tossing soft plastics and the occasional hardbody, do you think either of these reels are up to the task and if so which one will do a better job of it? Reel will eventually be matched up to a 6-7" 2-5kg 2 piece rod. Your thoughts are much appreciated Cheers
