  1. mate that happens at Big * so often its ridiculous , at my local half the rack of fireline has been switched with mono. People must be buying the stuff taking it home using it, then respooling it with crap mono and then returning it for a refund , while the staff are none the wiser
  2. some nice fish there mate well done ...helluva flattie its a croc
  3. i wouldnt go as far as saying they were fat but they werent thin either. Average size was about 25-30cm and i rkn there were a few that gave 40cm a nudge aswell.

Holy Sh*t you poor bugger, glad it wasnt much worse for you, get stuck into that brother of yours just in case hes not feeling guilty enough. How did you manage to crack a smile in that situation? I rkn fhm will publish your pic if you send it to them.
  5. Got a call from my dads mate on friday arvo asking me if i wanted to go out with him saturday morning for a fish...... Woo hoo always up that. Headed out of the hacking at about 6.30am in the 5.7m trailcraft straight out the heads and headed towards wollongong. Few hundred meteres into the run down south and we see some fish being bailed to the surface which looked like yakkas, anyway we get the lures out start trolling near them, when all these tools turn up and start criss crossing all over the top of them and more importantly over the top of our lines lost a lure and thought bugger this so we continued our run south. Stopped for a troll again but came up with zip. Got to our flathead spot, first drop and both of us lose our rigs........friggin jackets !!! Anyway re rigged with wire patternoster rigs and joe proceeded to catch jacket after jacket. Joe was using bream gear to catch the buggers, and he had about 10 on me before i decided to change to light stuff. Once i changed over it was on, with both of us getting double hooks at the same time . we moved to try and find some flatties and we thought we found them when i pulled up a nice 50cm model but it wasnt to be.... jackets again. Anyway we lost count of how many we caught (lost count after 50) but we kept enough for a great feed , when the chop got a bit annoying we called it a day. Nice boat, great company, fun fishing, top day on the water Cheers

  15. Hi guys went out with my mate this morning to do some SP fishing. My mate had never caught a fish on plastics before so i was hoping he would get one. Started off near the restaurant at cabarita was pretty slow at fisrt till the water started to get up then my mate Sax pulls in a a flounder on a gulp camo worm, his 1st ever fish on SP woo hoo. I then proceeded to catch my 1st bream on SP using a camo worm. Although ive been using SP's for a while now ive only managed to score flatties, even though this one was a little bugger i was happy to break my duck. We started to move along towards the golf course and Sax scored 3 flatties in fairly quick succesion on camo worms all were undersize, i had a few good hits on my pink smilin jack but failed to set the hooks. Things quietened down again so we kept moved around the bay a bit further. I scored a flatty of about 40cm, didnt get to measure him as he came off as i was bringing him over the ledge. Changed over to a 3" gulp minnow grub in watermelon and started casting towards the storm water pipes in front of the golf course after a half a dozen casts i got a solid bump and zzzzzzzzzzz finally got to hear my reel sing, the fish was taking drag steadily after a short tussle a flash of silver and i knew it was no flathead, modest bream of 29cm my PB on plastic . After that Sax scored one more flatty on a watermelon grub and we decided to call it a day with the wind and rain starting to become annoying. Not a bad day cosidering we both got a few PB's and broke some ducks. Cheers heres a dodgy phone pic
  16. Yea i tried them already this stuff isnt generic at all couldnt even find anything similar at clark rubber. A place in st marys said they may have something similar other wise they could make it, but then it would defeat the purpose of just buying the orginal from a marine shop . Looks like i may have to bite the the bullet like evrything else
  17. Cheers mate but do they stock orginal Johnson stuff from like 20 years ago?
  18. Its a sportsman craft V162 Cuddy Cab with a 70hp Johnson. If im lucky i might actually get to use the bloody thing this summer
  19. Hi guys im in the process of rebuilding a boat and the painting has hit a bit of a wall have painted the motor original Johnson white however at some some stage prior to my ownership the cover has been resprayed and the colour doesnt match. Seeing as i have to replace the rubber cowling i thought i may aswell respray the cover to match the motor. Is there any place i can buy the rubber seal that wont cost me $60? Its such a rip $65 for a metre and half of rubber! Can the cover be resprayed without removing or damaging the existing decals? ie taping them up and spraying around. If not can they be purchased and what are they worth? I have called a few marine places but so far have only got a lot of woffle. Thanks in advance John
  20. Mate i know you pain i just recently brought a boat only to find the transom needed to be done after . Took it too a fibreglass repairer in riverstone, they do a lot of repair work for blakes marine and club marine. I cost me 2k with floor and new non slip paint ill show some picks of what they had to do to repair it
