we are fishing with a guide but any knowledge about the fishing up ther recently or at the time that i will be up there would be great:)Going in 4 days. leaving wednesday night and coming back the following tuesday night. cant wait.
Also, what sort of outfit is suitable for jewie fishing mainly down near bar pt, the bridges, the vines and milson island.eg:rod, reel, line, leader, hooks, sinkers etc.
Any other info on these spots or others would be fantastic
The Mulloway. One of the most sought after species of fish that we target. im new to jewie fishing and am keen to learn more that will improve results. im yet to land one but have a feeling that will soon be changing.i mainly fish in the hawkesbury and pittwater but havent really specifically targeted them. all you guys that have the knowledge already it would be really appreciated if you could give me some tips:rigs, bait, gear, lures and anything else that is relevant.

Not a bad day by the sounds of it. everytime i head down to bar point and the vines i only get throwback tailor and about 30 catfish. how did u catch the jewies??? i'm still trying to get one but havent had much luck. Also i stayed at a place at bar point for a weekend in april and found the best spot to be the vines side of milson island. seen tailor, whiting, crabs, bream and flatties caught there.
ive heard of a few good spots around clifton gardens off the rocks but also towards the heads can be quite productive. ive never got many big snapper around sydney harbour but still i definitely dont think ur wasting ur time trying. also the old man's hat isn't bad for tailor and snapper ive heard.
Finally got the chance to get out today and decided to go and give clive park in northbridge a go. It was low tide but that didn't really matter. I tried from the small beaches, the rocks and oyster patches but not a touch. 2 hours of getting weed stuck to my line and sinkers which seems to have ruined my new reel. hopefully now i can wait a week and a half before Weipa. That will be something new. hoping for my first Barra.
Hi all,
Havn't fished middle harbour much this year so wanting to give it a go. where is a good place to target bream, leatherjackets and so on on bait and softies. I will probably try around the reserve at the bottom of sailors bay road. walked around there once and thought i gotta come back here with some gear. anywayz yeh.
Yeh, i havent been up there for a few years either. last time i mainly fished around the mouth of the river for flatties and whiting. never caught a bream up there but i know they r definitely quite common.
Going to Coolum and Noosa soon and of course cant resist paccking a few rods. Never really fished the beaches around queensland so i dont know what to excpect. What fish are around Coolum Beach and The Noosa river at the moment. ive fished the noosa river quite a few times but not in the last 2 years. Mainly big flatties on whitebait for me but willing to try something else this time.

yer. went today for a few hours without much luck. all i had to show for 3 hours of fishing were 2 flounder. one of them was quite big being 31cm and the other approximately 24cm. saw quite a few yakkas around the wharves but just couldnt hookem. saw a couple of trevally caught but thats about it.
havent fished balmoral for a while. obviously the flatties and whiting are slower than in summer but hows the fishing at the moment. preferably near the wharf.
when trolling pittwater for tailor, salmon and bonito what lures should you use? i seem to always get either nothing or something i dont want. like a jacket. any suggestions????
headed out this morning on pittwater. hoping for an exciting day but it wasnt to be. started the day trolling around west head and surprisingly picked up a massive leatherjacket. didnt measure it but it was about 40cm at least. no other action there so anchored at a sandy area inbetween west head and mackerel beach. only 2 little flatties.
a bit more trolling at mackerel beach but nothing was happening so headed to stokes point.
after about 1 and a half hours i had only managed 6 small snapper with the biggest being 23cm. the basin was also quiet with just 1 tiny snapper. pretty disappointing day but still great getting out.
