  1. G'day Roberta All I can say I wow, what a slap in the face! Cheers Leo
  2. Got a new set of pedestals yesterday, thanks to Craig from the site sponsor, Huett marine for his help. Cheers Leo
  3. Yeah a bench mounted mincer, usually done outside though. I should add it's a fairly messy job. I haven't targeted kings much. But have had good success with snapper. I would mince all the guts and frames of fish and add chopped pilchards and prawn shells. Seemed to work a treat. But I usually just cube pilchards for snapper. Cheers Leo
  4. G'day What species are you targeting? The biggest thing is to have a steady stream but not too much to feed the fish. I've had a fair bit of luck with a mincer I got online Cheers Leo
  5. Good call I thought of the same thingCheers Leo
  6. G'day Roberta Sorry to hear. I've had 2 recos on the same shoulder, after workers comp got me back to work too early, after the first operation. Take it slow and steady and do the exercises as often as possible. It took me about 12 months to reach my best the second time, and was hard work but it paid off. But trust me you only want to do it once if you can help it. Good luck! Cheers Leo
  7. I should add I live in the middle of Sydney, in the Ryde area. Cheers Leo
  8. G'day I jumped ship from Vodafone to Optus about 3 years ago and only lasted 8 months before jumping to Telstra. Since then I can actually make a phone call from within my house. In over 2 years I haven't looked back. Not once Cheers Leo
  9. G'day looks like a silver trevally. Excellent sashimi when bled. Cheers Leo
  10. Just different wavelengths of light. The LEDs would be different colours, although probably not noticeably different to the human eye. Cheers Leo
  11. G'day gazza I've read a few books and papers referring to them as a member of the scad family. Cheers Leo
  12. Top work mate. First strike from your own boat always gets the blood pumping. And just keeps you coming back for more! What temp were you working? Cheers Leo
  13. Haha hilarious. My uncles first boat was a bath tub, they carried it across a golf course for her maiden voyage out onto moreton bay, up in brissy. And it was more than one outing, just a 2 man boat. One to row and one to bail. Oh how far we have come over the last 50 years! Cheers Leo

  17. G'day mate How are ya? How have ya been? If its only blowing 8 you would be fine. But I'd wait a few days for the call a lot can change in a few days. Cheers Leo
  18. G'day Raiders I'm recovering from back surgery so want to give myself an easier day when I get back on the water, and recently came across softrider pedestals and wave masters. Has anyone had any experience with either of these? Fair bit of dough to fork out $200-400 so I'm wondering if anyone has a set and how they have lasted? Cheers Leo
  19. G'day Fishingphase Yeah a great little stretch that one. I just had to take the fusion option, only way ill see the boat again. But I got given a tool by portarecovery.com.au. Can't remember the name of it but my Physio loves it. Helps to stretch your back just the right amount. Here's the pic Cheers Leo
  20. G'day Top work, and excellent photos. It sucks having a rooted back, coz I'd love to get my arms stretched again by a beaky! Cheers Leo
  21. G'day Have you tried using any products like salt away? The chances are there is more salt you can't see. Cheers Leo Cheers Leo

    Wot Knot?

G'day Yeah I don't normally crimp 50. For lighter tackle you can also add spring over the line. Thimbles and springs are protection for your line from rubbing on through on your swivel. The same as on your anchor rope to protect it from rubbing off on the d shackle. Hope that helps Cheers Leo

    Wot Knot?

G'day What size leaders are you using? For 80lb+ I usually crimp, especially for trolling. And don't forget to add a stainless thimble if its the marlin gear. Cheers Leo
  25. G'day mate Unfortunately you don't generally get away with using wire for kings. I run 80-100lb fluorocarbon. Cheers Leo
