  1. Your get up is in da bag yo, you be busting dem stinky's in no time G dawg.
  2. Yes for bundeena, port hacking, and taken point. Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
  3. Ahh thats a better angle on the Daiwa......and it looks like a Millionaire. But yeah that one is probably a baitcaster....go test it Ohh and the little knob that feel off is probably it's drag setting knob *edit* It's actually the Cast Control Cap. The Drag is located on the handle, the brass coloured nut on your reels case. Also, i don't think the Shimano would be a suitable rod for the reel, probably pair better with your 2-4kg. unless you have a baitcaster rod in your collection.
  4. Hmm sounds like the 2 piece was not put together tight enough? Did it snap or did it just slip? When assembling a 2 piece push them together and then test with a little twist.....if it moves easily then you need to push down harder Your "baitcaster" looks suspiciously like an Overhead. That lever on the right of it is the free spool tensioner or drag lever which you use to control the decent of your rig. Don't think you actually cast that one...it's more a drop off the side of the boat. *EDIT* Just took a look at your collection, looks like both are overheads. Baitcaster usually have a thumb switch which allows you to release the spool to allow the rig to be casted, check your daiwa one and see if the thumb switch operates when you press it. Easy way is to have a light weight on the end, let it hang a few feet off the ground and press the switch.
  5. Yeah i get told that alot, keep forgetting to tone down my personality when on the net as reading text does not have the same desired effect when you speak the words. Was it a shark or Ray when your braid saw daylight?
  6. Chippo Lake - Can't eat from there i think Parra River wharfs (Meadowbank/Rhodes/Kissing Point) - Can't eat from there either. Hen and Chicken Bay - Can't eat from there either. Heck Sydney fishing west side of the bridge is bloody depressing Bait wise, Prawns, worms and chicket fillets. Since you travelled to Stanwell Beach you probably could also try Bundeena, the Hacking and Taren Point.
  7. Yeah, but it solves the wave stretch/moving bait etc problem and gives him more leeway if he hooks on a monster with the braid backing. Just think of it as braid with 200m mono leader Don't think his braid backing has seen daylight since he put it on there though
  8. That gate is finicky, sometimes they do sometimes they don't, luck of the draw
  9. Something like this? Probably can make one out of a collapsible camping table leg.
  10. Damn that's one nasty looking trap think the only way you'll get a crab in that is if it tangles itself when it tries to squeeze in Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
  11. I think that 750 is for cooperates. You can volunteer with Grass Roots who are the fishing crew that do the carp clean up. http://www.yourparklands.org.au/volunteers/carp_management_public
  12. Nope, the Ci4 is ridiculously light
  13. TVS is a good source for fishing shows if you can catch TVS, if not stream it online. Tonight's line up starts at 8.30pm with Fish and Hunt Australia, 9.00pm AFN fishing show, 9.30pm 100% pure fishing. http://www.tvs.org.au/guide here's the link to the weekly guide. I think Adventure Bound has stopped airing
  14. Adventure Bound on TVS channel 44. Them Kiwi's are MAD
  15. SHIMANO T CURVE REVOLUTION TRAVEL 904 LB SPIN ROD
  16. The Sustain is the better reel, but i am a Stradic man and will always pick the Stradic......guess the sentimental factor kicks in there as the Stradic was the first expensive reel my old man got for me when i upgraded from the plastic 10 dollar kid setups.
  17. Yeah the little ones have no sense of personal space!! When i am prawning they have the audacity to slap my rear end to get a feed of the prawns that get past me Prawning....another fishing activity that you might get yourself into as well as crabbing......can you see the dollars adding up? I'm expecting Prawns to post a report with a title "20 fish in 20 minutes"
  18. BBQ tongs flattened with fine sandpaper stuck on the inside for grip is what my old man used to use.
  19. Switch up your retrieval if you see them chasing but not taking, slow retrieve, stop start retrieve, flick retrieve etc. What do you get when you combine Scratchie and Prawns on a fishing trip? Pelican Itch? LOL
  20. Mate if that is what your creek looks like then my childhood memories of playing by the creek must be wrong As for that 2m leader....not really necessary for estuary fishing unless you are lure fishing.

  22. Yeah squid are that colour when they are alive, well they have a few shades of colour as they adapt to the environment, they go ghostly white when they die. Squid was lightly seasoned then quickly tossed around in the wok to seal the flavour and devoured before the steam was about to dissipate in the air Saw your post regarding squid jigs, squidin depends on the area, my spots are usually evening catches so a lure that glows makes a better attractant. Other places get squid in the early mornings and bright coloured lures are used. Squidin becomes expensive when you get into it Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk

    Whiting

If you are finding that whiting are giving you trouble try circle hooks, loosen the drag. The whiting down in windang have been preferring fresh prawns peeled and nippers this session. Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
