  1. Shimano Aernos 2500FA (comes with spare spool so you can switch) 150ish Shimano T-Curve 703 3-5kg spin 150ish Crap forgot the braid.....pretty sure you should have some left over to get some braid if you shop smart
  2. Would you recommend the Gore-Tex for waterproofing but also coolness? I've tried a few wet weather gear but they seem to cause perspiration which leaves me wet from sweat instead of rain....not pleasant
  3. Can you post a few pics of the lures you are using?
  4. What can be done? Take the law into your own hands, become a vigilante But seriously, the thing to do is simply report the culprit to the authorities and eventually they will get caught.
  5. 1. Clear red head 50mm 2. 6lb Braid 3. Pop and Stop (imitate a prawn) 4. Shallows.
  6. Do the poppers you bought looks like a head with feathers or are they more like a small fish?
  7. Celebrating Chinese New year fishing? If ya down there on Saturday night (chinese new year eve) The Nan Tien Temple opens it's new years eve festival at 8.30pm then again on Sunday at 10.30am, good place to drop off the non fishing folks
  8. Get a Job at a Wharf somewhere, especially one that transports coal. Do your shift and then throw in a line after work, the warm water caused by the cooling of the coal at the wharf produces massive un-edible fish but damn are they fun to catch. I remember back in my younger days when we were allowed into the Coniston Coal Terminal boat ramp to throw in a line, and the days when Jetty 6 in Port Kembla Harbour was open to the public. Man were tehy the good ol days.
  9. Here's the pic of the carpark. Follow the walking path towards the water, you'll see the angel ring and the fisheries size and bag limit sign. You'll spot the fishable spots pretty easily by watching how the waves break. To the left is the bay, if you had a kayak or a boat you would drift from ocean to bay for flatties. Good sized Breams and Blackfish can also be scored there. Behind that tree on the left is a covered sitting area for the family to have a picnic, there is also a very family friendly snorkelling spot at bushrangers bay where you can swim with the fishies, bring a few pilchards to try and feed the bream
  10. Ahh that new pic of bass point looks better, more trees hehe. The car park you have is where the scuba divers park but close enough cos the other parking spot is just before it. I'll post some pics once I get on a PC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. But to answer your question. Drive all the way into bass point reserve and you'll hit a parking lot at the end on your left. Park the car and locate the life ring. The fishing spot you are looking for is the rock platform in front if the ring. Bonnies, kings, salmons you fish where the waves rolls across the rock face. Bream blackfish and flatheads you fish for slightly left of the rolling waves casting into the Bay Area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Something looks wrong with that pic. Doesn't look like bass point that I know of. I'm on the phone so can't zoom in much but are you sure you have bass point shell cove? It's near a quarry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. hehe my prawns are live an kicking when i impale them with a hook through their gullet.....you practically hear them scream in agony as the hook slowly pushes it's way in and then out. But i agree, the plastics do more damage than the store bought baits and they don't leave a horrid stench on the fingers
  14. Sister bought the housing off fleebay for 150 bucks and hasn't had any complaints about it except that it isn't a Ikelite Don't think she can justify a $400 housing for a camera she bought for $500
  15. Yeah scooped them up while prawning, rigged one up and threw it out back. Left rod in rod holders on my prawning rig while i continued to prawn. No takers and not many prawns either, too much fresh water coming down. Chinese New year looks to be the jackpot conditions for the next bountiful prawn session Yeah was a massive shame on the flatty, The upgraded her iphone so i have her old one which has a waterproof casing so i take it fishing and i can finally take photo's of my catches would have been nice to have taken a pic of the Flatty, looked about roughly 77cms....but you know how fishing stories are
  16. Was down in windang on the weekend also, scooped up 2 squids sent it out the back while prawning but no Jew fish takes. Used the 200 grams of prawns I caught on the Sunday and hook a big fatty only to have the circle hook fail as I was beaching her. First I have had the circles fail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. My Sister has the Sony RX100, she bought it after seeing Justin Bieber using it in his music video and boy can that camera take wicked shots. She takes it snorkeling to take photos of the fish life and i've taken it to the the beach to take pictures of the underwater life. I don't know much about taking photos underwater but the sister went to this site to learn. http://www.uwphotographyguide.com/ They have reviews of cameras in there also. Forgot to mention that she has an underwater housing for it.
  18. You entered by walking into the tackle shop called Deans bait and Tackle at 5am and signing up Not really promoted enough, heck there was a $5,000 tagged fish in the Lake over Christmas and anyone who caught the bugger within the 5 days got the prize. Once again, not promoted enough.
  19. Four guys have been going to the same fishing trip for many years. Two days before the group is to leave, Ron's wife puts her foot down and tells him he isn't going. Ron's mates are very upset that he can't go, but what can they do. Two days later the three get to the camping site to find Ron sitting there with a tent set up, firewood gathered, and dinner cooking on the fire, sitting having a cold beer. "Ron, how long you been here, and how did you talk your missus into letting you go?" "Well, I've been here since last night. Yesterday evening, I was sitting in my living room chair and my wife came up behind me and put her hands over my eyes and asked, 'Guess who?" I pulled her hands off, and there she was, wearing a nightie. She took my hand and pulled me into our bedroom. The room had candles and rose petals all over. Well she's been reading 50 Shades of Grey...... On the bed she had handcuffs, and ropes! She told me to tie her up and cuff her to the bed, so I did. And then she said, "Do whatever you want." So, Here I am!
  20. Flatty Classic is just a day thing and it was last Sunday, so you've missed it. Don't really need a boat. You could have won considering you were pulling in so many flatties
  21. I just ordered a pair of Otis Prague, Polarised with Photochromic (also known as transition) glass lenses for $50 delivered. I'll let ya know how they are once they arrive, or you can just grab a pair. Had to upgrade my ol faithful el Cheapo Dirty Dog plastic ones as they were scratched beyond use
  22. Yeah there is a sign up that says fishing is prohibited from the bridge Doesn't really stop peeps fishing off it though. South side, lake side? hehe Picnic Island Channel Will be going for a prawn this weekend there, tide looks good for you evening fishos who like to fish the run in tide.
