  2. Lol looks like Australian Calamari is the better go then!! My local guy up here in liverpool not a bait shop but a seafood shop sells aussie greeneye calamari for $18p/kg BUT hasnt always got it... only on the rare occasion because he says it gets expenisve which i expect it would! N if the case is that the hawkesbury squid is more expensive ill go with the aussie, as i know it works and is cheaper also. Cheers David for the input i thought hawkesbury squid would be cheaper !! DERR epic fail i was wrong... Cheers again mate, jez

  4. Thanks guys will keep it in mind. BUT what about the actual Australian Calamari as in the same stuff we catch if we chase them. I can get that BUT its expensive so I dont wanna buy a few kilo's worth and then it going to waste. Ill definately pick up some hawkesbury squid but will that work as well ?? You guys are the pro's and im just trying to make it happen ehehehehe. Cheers for the input Jez

  6. Morning Raiders, I'm pretty keen to get out and chase some jew this week BUT im gonna be a little bit lazy and just go buy some Australian Calamari instead of trying to catch it to save time on bait collecting and just get stuck into some jew. Firstly is it wise to buy the australian calamari, it is a bit pricey at $18p/kg but thats not much of an issue aslong as it works. I know about Cali squid but for where I fish seems Cali squid is useless. Ive put out both a fresh aus calamari bait along side a Cali squid bait and the aus calamari bait went off each time. Not 1 bit of cali squid got touched, BUT this is squid I caught on earlier sessions and just froze to use for jew bait when ready. Unfortunetly I havent had the time to go out during the week and stock up on squid baits, so was thinkin of buying the same stuff. Is it worth it ?? Will it get the job done? As i know the cali squid will fail me where I will be fishing. Also is it worth chasing them at this time of the year, as it seems its the coldest part of the year all around. Ill be fishing the trusty Georges River from Picnic Point to around Chipping Norton. Caught some jew here in the past but that was in summer and on very fresh bait. So just wondering if anyone has an input on whether its a good idea to use store baught Aussie calamari at this time of year. Cheers Raiders, jez
  7. Mate that sounds pretty fair to me, $75 each way and helping too launch and clean the boat afterwards and a few cold ones after the trip. I dont own a boat but yeah that too me would sound very fair.
  8. Mate I would be more than happy to jump on a boat with you. Lol obviously have no problems sharing costs for everything and help cleaning, launching the boat. Just I need to find some new fishing buddies, Ive obviously been ripped sideways and ontop of that not to mention 80% of the time we went out the sounder wouldnt work... FAIL ! So yeah mate if you are interested in taking me out PM me Cheers, jez
  9. Wow, looks like ive been going out with the wrong crowd. Last time I went out I paid $120 plus I bought a 30L fuel tank full of fuel and bought my own bait all my own gear and tackle. Also helped launch and do a bit of washing down on the boat. I think ill need some new fishing buddies. Cheers for the info raiders I thought in a way I was getting jipped but I was going fishing so didnt care all to much. But if this is how much it should be or even $50-$60 damn. Oh well I should have been more careful. Cheers, jez p.s: I guess some people take your kindness and generosity to be weakness and decide to really stab the nail in the coffin aye.
  10. Hey mate, Yeah as Nathan said fresh is best. So id be trying to definately get a bucket of yakkas with an airater to keep them live and kicking. Also really good bait would be fresh salmon fillet or tailor fillet. Live or really fresh squid works wonders, BUT always takes time to get a few for bait. If you like I wouldnt mind coming out for a jew session. Let me know where you fellaz plan on going and ill be more than happy to come along and have a good fish also give you guys some tips on how ive caught jews before. Rigs, bait etc. I basically learnt everything I know from various raider members which has helped me caught some decent sized jews. I have not yet gone out in winter for jews but I wouldnt mind having a go since I havent done it in a while. Just PM or what not and we can get it organized. Cheers, jez
  11. Hey mate, You need a mate to come along with ya? Havent done night fishing in the harbour for a while now (since its been cold) but would love to go nocturnal again!!! I got the drinks Cheers, jez

  14. Bump !! Cmon guys I know someone can help me out here !!!
  15. Ahh yeah "Madmen of the Sea" with the kiwi bloke... that is an awesome show !! Catches everything and he is far more extreme than any other fishing show ive seen. He even pisses himself on a boat because he doesnt want to miss the action and he's a straight up fella so always good to watch. Also he's not all about the advertising of gear he uses everything lol he just wants to show you how he fish's and how mad he really is about it. Great show... and to keep on topic Robson Green is a poser, he whines and bitch's about the place's he fish's. Little does he know any of us anglers would give anything to go and fish where he does. Madman of the Sea FTW !!
  16. Aint he a lucky fella !!! Man vs Tail and the tail won lol !!
  17. Hey Raiders, I recently just baught myself a jigging outfit that Im sure is well capable of handling the biggest of kingies !! Its a Monster Mesh Max Rod 300g match with a 6500 Saltist and 80lb Penn Braid. I tried jigging this weekend on a mates boat, but no one really knew what they were doing so we just dropped the jigs down and tried to jig them back up, with no results. Was hoping some raiders who know there jigging would be able to show me the ropes on how to jig for kings or any other species for that matter. Im more than happy to help out with fuel cost and cleaning of the boat after any trip and drinks too. I just want to learn how to jig the proper way and hopefully make some jigging buddies at the same time. Any help would be appreciated raiders Cheers, JezzaLz
  18. Cheers for the input fellas on the boat as we speak heading out !!! Beautiful weather and hopefully we get some good fish !!! Will report as it happens !!! Cheers again raiders !!! JezzaLz
  19. Hey raiders, Heading out tomorrow to 12 Mile and gonna do some cubing for tuna and also heading to browns mountain to do the same. Ive never done this before and was hoping some raiders could give me some helpful pointers and tips maybe even some different styles and techniques i could use out there to catch some fish. Even if we dont score tuna im happy with any other species for the table !! Ive got a jigging setup but never jigged so I might try this out as well, any helpful pointers in this region would also be really handy. Cheers Raiders, jez
