  1. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows the state of the hawkesbury and cowan in particular after all this rain? Was looking to target some small hammerheads if they were around? Any recomendations? Cheers Adrian
  2. Hanging for a fish!

  3. Are there any slime around at the moment?
  4. thanks stealth, some interesting and handy information there.
  5. Hi Guys and Gals, just wanted to know if anyone had fished the hawkesbury in the last couple of days after the rain and could tell me what the water quality is like. am thinking of doing a couple of days in there chasing the jew. any info would be much appreciated. Cheers, Adrian.
  6. Hi Whittley580, We were downriggng between the tubes and point perp inside the bay. We had the bomb at 65ft and found the deeper marks coming up to the bomb. I find the kings have no issue coming up for a bait as opposed to going down. Hope that helps mate and good luck next time.
  7. Another thing the kings at point perp were only on around the tide change on the high in the morn, and were hanging out in about 120ft of water where the most bait was showing on the sounder.
  8. Plenty of squid in the bay at the moment jumping on pink and orange jigs. A mate and i downrigged slimies and squid for three kings about 4-4.5 kg and a momumental touch up by a big hood on a slimie last weekend, they are about so get out there!
  9. Plenty of scumbos around, was there friday and the water looked green as!
  10. Hi All, been a while since my last report, took the new tinny out in search of some action in botany on saturday at the crack of dawn and managed to get a few pike as live bait as the yakkas and squid were not at our usual grounds. from there headed off to molly point where it looked as though every man and his dog were there. long story short first pike lasted about 3 seconds before the tiagra 30 was away and a 66cm king boated. the next bait didnt last much longer and another identically sized king was brought on board. from there all went quiet, picked up a flathead on one of our drifts and then some slimies at the drums which we would hope to convert to some arvo kings but it was not to be. all in all great day on the water with a good mate and awesome weather conditions. hopefully do it all again in the coming weeks before the centre console conversion begins on the boat.
  11. good stuff mate, the boys and i got into em a few weeks back. definately been a good year for them this year even if the average size is down.
  12. definately true, i was up at port towards the end of Nov and most boats came back with at least one tagged.
  13. well done yeeros, the inshore beakies and blues shouldnt be far off showing either. great catch.
  14. Hi All, I was thinking of going for a beach fish with a mate and not really being a beach fishing guru was wondering if the beaches still produce on a falling tide. primarily will be chasing sambos on pillies and spin gear. any tips would be much appreciated.
  15. JB all the way mate, plenty of options from squidding, sambos, kings, flathead, bream etc and not overfished like the shoalhaven.
  16. bleed it imediately as it looks like you have done, then fillet, de bone and cut out the blood lines and cook it in a pasta sauce. really really nice. give it a go and make up your own mind about taste mate.

there are plenty of hairtail around mate, we got some a couple weeks back and a couple of blokes i spoke to at the local brained them last weekend in a 3hr session. go have a crack mate. you wont catch them at home thats for sure.
  19. thanks for the update ross good to hear you getting onto the kings. once i get myself sorted and find some time when the weather is good im going to have a crack. at the very least i hope i get some kings.
  20. i will put it to the test if the water and weather are favourable. lets just keep our fingers crossed. thanks for the reply ross.
  21. well done mate. im still amped to get my first mako. hopefully will come very soon.
  22. Ross is it worth a sneaky cube session of an arvo there if the water is right, as most people would over look it and push well wide without ever trying the area??? they used to be there so there is no reason they may not still frequent the area even if they are in smaller numbers. a couple of people i know have seen plenty of jelly beans while diving in and around sydney heads and bluefish. just a thought!
  23. that is a cracker long tom, they are not too bad to eat either. well done.
