  1. Yes I do this on long day sea trips as well...
  2. My Grandfather always used the same method. Never came home without a bag of good quality fish.
  3. Last I heard it was from a Chemist in Caringbah. Try sending a email to escape with et for more info.
  4. As mentioned previously the Grays Point and Yowie bay boat ramps are the pick. Yowie bay is probably the best, but no fish cleaning or wash down facilities. Grays Point is a little further to get too, but has wash down facilities, but no fish cleaning table. There also is Cronulla, but only for small boats, pick the tides and limited parking. Both Yowie bay and Grays Point have pontoons. Grays point also has a beach that you can pull your boat up on. As for times and with all boat ramps, you either need to go at night, get there early or I often go around 11:00am - 12:00 noon and jag a spot, when all the fisher people start heading back. Port Hacking is one of the best waterways around for boating leisure. But, I have found, is a little hard work with fishing. Happy boating.
  5. A follow up on my sale. Had my tinny up for sale for a few months now. As mentioned previously in the thread, I have all sorts of tossers either ring, txt me or message me with offers of half the advertised value. Anyway had a fellow and his son come and have a look yesterday. They looked at the boat, asked genuine questions, did not bag the boat and made an offer. The offer was about 15% under my advertised price and was in my ball park. Deal done and great people to deal with. So there still are some good people to deal with out there......
  6. Have used them in the past, there is nothing that beats a tailored made cover for fit, longevity and looks. I would only go custom tailored made on that size boat.
  7. I have always been happy with the recommend HP or just over. The boats that I have owned with the max HP fitted. Never seem to sit well at sea. As they are generally bum heavy.
  8. Just selling a tinny now and are having the same issues with Gumtree. Have listed the min offer that I will accept for offers, but they then text me when the offer can not be sent to me. I am having offers of half the value being sent by txt. I thank them for their offer, but are getting somewhat annoyed.....
  9. I like 'what is your best or final price'. I also respond to the low offers with. Thank you for your offer, but, you may want to lower your expectations if that is all that you wish to spend.
  10. Have found that a normal bait tank pump does not have the correct pressure for a deck wash to operate. My boat of choice at the moment is a Quintrex 510 Ocean Sport that has the Quintrex bait tank installed in the transom. I removed the deck wash pump and fitted a 70psi / 20L per min pump. You can buy these online. Then on the pressure side installed a T - fitting and a valve on the bait pump line and also a valve on the deck wash line so that I can either run both or one at a time. Works like dream. After having a deck wash. You will always want one.
  11. I always burley, with diced pillies, chicken pellets and bread. Change type of bait from Chicken to Prawns to cubed pillies.
  12. After having a tiller steer tinny and having some bad experiences. I will only ever go forward steer or side console.
  13. Great Idea. Will have to try this one - thanks for sharing. I often use Corn Flakes and other Cereals to crumb fish. Use the blender and crumb to what size you prefer.
  14. Second this. Another spot is to take a trip to Mainbar. Pump some nippers and fish the channel.
  15. Gymea Bay Baths in the Hacking. Burnum Burnum reserve on the Woronora River. Either side under the Captain cook Bridge. Along off the groynes of Kurnell.
  16. Anyone know where the Port Hacking reef will be placed?
  17. I would go for the plumbed bait tank. Fresh water is always best to stop the toxins building up in the water in either a liver bait of catch tank. I have a transom mounted bait tank that is fed by a 70psi, 20 l/min pump. There is a T connector that also feeds to a hose that I use for a deck/raw water wash down. Dual purpose and no need for two pumps. After having a deck wash. Will never go back........
  18. Thanks for the different fishing report.
  19. Thanks Wellzy, Sorry I did not mention the chicken Portion. Yes thigh is better, and generally cheaper. Most often the chicken bait will stay on and then be used again.
  20. I use chicken pellets/bread and diced pillies as burley. Little or no weight. As for Bait I generally swap between:- Sliced cheap chicken fillets (Holds on the hook real good). Prawns. Cubed pillies. Keep them on the bite with the burley.
  21. Thanks for the report Yowie. Interesting reading as usual.....
  22. No - hoop traps. They sell them at a shop and most tackle shops.
