  1. If you want a test drive, that is fine and I would be more than happy to take an interested buyer out for a test run, only after we negotiated a price and they place a deposit. There are too may people out there wanting a boat ride with no commitment. Also, I have found this very annoying (for me) practice creeping into the used market lately, where people ask you what is you best price. I now place a comment within my advert as follows:- "Please do not ring or message me asking my best price.... The listed price is clearly visible. If you are interested, please send me an offer or better still come and have a look and then I will be happy to negotiate $$$$...."
  2. Have you load tested the batteries? Maybe time for new batteries.......
  3. It is a great option. Just make sure you change the oil. as like all oils, it will absorb moisture.
  4. Typical of the self righteous condescending people of the Sutherland Shire. Moved out of Greenhills Beach estate and can not wait to move up North for all the reasons listed above.
  5. Just had a trip down to Melbourne. We hired what would be a 5.5 metre boat and loaded it with with 6 adults and a couple of Eskies. We travelled up and down the Yarra for 2 hours with an electric motor. It went well and travelled at about 4 knots Very quiet and the operator told us he get 9 hours from a full charge.
  6. We tried up in Tuncurry last weekend and did not have any luck.....
  7. I just now but the wire paternoster rigs and use these for all my fishing and just change the hook sizes to suit either reef, sand or leather jackets. I have not found that these have effected my numbers when fishing with mates using mono paternoster rigs.
  8. That is why most boats are listed as 481 or above.
  9. Another great feed.....
  10. Very impressive. Back then we kept them and ate them - not knowing any better....
  11. Brand new outfit. Getting prices from one dealer that deal's in Etec's and the other Mercury 4 strokes.
  12. I will only tow at Max 100kph. Too much strain on you, the car and trailer going higher in speed.
  13. Thinking of buying a Quintrex 490 Renegade coupled with a 90 HP Mercury 4 stroke. Any opinions please?
  14. Best way to quickly check if the switch is gone to god. Generally the switches have two wires with spade connectors. Pull each spade connector off the back of the switch and then touch the copper part of the two spade connectors together and see the accessory works
  15. I would go one further and replace the switches anyway. Especially if they have some age about them or do get wet .
  16. I have been searching for a couple of long handle prawn nets, as I want to get back into prawning from my boat in Tuncurry and when I was young used a long handled net in Sussex Inlet. All I have been able to find is the short handle type, that prompted me to look at the rules. Think that the drop length of the net is the total length from the end of the handle to the bottom of the net. Any help will be welcomed. Scoop net Maximum diameter of hoop or ring 0.6 metres. Minimum mesh size 20mm measured across the diagonal. Drop (length of net) no more than 1.25 metres. Must be used by hand and not staked or set. Must not be joined or placed with any other net. Only one net per person at any time. Other fish caught while fishing for prawns may be kept, however, bag and size limits
  17. May I suggest that you first check that you are getting power to the + terminal of the switch and then when the switch is in the on position check that you have power to the - terminal. Use a cheap test lamp or multi meter to test.
  18. Depending on where you live in Sydney. Think about Forster/Tuncurry
  19. Yes, the breather can get clogged up with salt.......
  20. I would only pay 10 - 15% of the buy price. If they do not accept it - go to another dealer.......
  21. Hello All, Thanks in advance for your comments. I have recently been looking at buying a Quintrex 481 top ender. But have stumbled along the Anglapro 484 Sniper. Can anyone please give me some real life reviews. There are a lot of positives for the Anglapro, but the only negative is, that it does not come with a tansom door. Welcome your opinions.
  22. I have been out on the Georges and a jetskier has cut in front of me when I have been in a 40 foot Riviera. Then chose to fall off. I had to put throw the thing in reverse so hard. They need to police this, and get it under control... Make the Georges a 15 knot limit.
