I'd say avoid the hacking and possibly George's like its plagued, well....on weekends....

I've only been out on Friday as of recent and even it was 2pm arrival, Drummoyne ramp was near full.

I've heard stories that places like parsely bay was chockers, not sure about other ramps.

@Fab1 what day and time and where were you planning?

Overall, I expect ramps to be busy till intrastate and interstate travel resume and then overseas travel.

I won't be going anywhere on week ends.If I could only go weekends the boat would be gone in a heartbeat.

Waiting more than a few minutes at a boat ramp isn't for me.

I was thinking hacking, windang or Greenwald point during day or night.

The beauty about night time is there's less idiots out and about and I don't know...There's something about being out at night that we like and you don't end up baked.

Knowing you Fab - “you’re gonna need a bigger boat”

    cheers Zoran

With the amount of muscle (ahem) I've put on during Covid I think you may be right.Last time I went out I was about 110kg.I weighed myself the other day and sitting at a feather weight 124kg.🙄🙄

    Hahahahaha Fab!
You are certainly a realist! I’d love to see you write an optimistic post! Surely after the amount of time you’ve spent on fishraider you could scrap together a feed! 😂

    cheers scratchie!!!

😂😂I've been eating plenty of fish mate.Problem it's from the fish markets.

  4. I'm thinking of replacing my bungs with taps and filling my hull with Bourbon. So after coming back home with yet another donut and cleaning all the gear and boat I can lie under the hull face up,turn the tap, open my mouth and drown my sorrows.

Going to rip into it now.😉

I have a 499 Stacer (Really 5.1 Metres) centre console.   Ithink it would be squishy as with 3 adults and 2 kids.  That said my girl isn't built for family outings.  Tiller and side consoles give you more deckspace but when fishing alone I like the balanced feel of a centre console and I can walk all the way around for fishing.

Here is my review on my boat.

Your boat is a pearler mate.I agree that the centre console is the best for fishing.Women think that a boat is 100 meters long mate.Well my mrs does as she thinks I should put a table and chairs on mine along with a toilet and shower.I'm sure she thinks our boat is the queen Mary and not just a little 420 tinny.😂😂😂

  6. Planning on taking my ship out very soon as I'm itching to feed some fish.

I want to feel the power of that 30hp yammy once again and feel the wind in my hair...That's right, it's been over a decade since I've had hair.

I then want to  come home via hungry jacks to feed myself and family and once home watch my wife and son just walk inside while i wash all my gear down that's had bait on it and the boat then put it all away.

I then want to sit down with a cold/strong beverage(Red cordial) in front of the telly telling myself how shit I am at fishing over and over.

Geez,I miss feeding the little fishies.😂😂

  7. I have a 420 run about and can tell you with 3 adults it's nice and cosy.

An open boat like a side console will have much more room than mine but will leave you and your kids exposed to the elements more.

As others have said the difference between dimensions on a 420,440,460 might not be much but it is quite alot when you compare them side by side.

I have the millennium hull on mine and I can tell you the 3 of us have never been wet in any chop or wind yet.Maybe if you get a strong crosswind I guess you would a bit.

I feed the fish in the waters you mention EXCEPT OFF SHORE and I wouldn't take any 420 boat from any make out there ever. But that's just me.

If you wanted to solely stay inshore fishing the waters you mention with the wife and a couple kids a 420 open boat or side console will do it easy.

Mines only a 30hp old tech 2 stroke and with us 3 fatties on board she will do 42kmh flat knackers and costs about a packet of fresh pasta to service and maintain.I've spent less than $100 on servicing the motor since I bought it new in 2011.

    Plugs,impellor and gear oil.

I thought about putting a 40hp yam on her but the upfront cost and service costs leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Good luck with what ever you decide but do yourself a favour and really think realistically about where you're going to fish, with how many people and MOST IMPORTANTLY all the associated COSTS that come with boat ownership.

Plenty of boats, caravans etc are garden gnomes because people have been living in Disney land when they bought them.

    Cheers

Nice feed again. Very consistent Dave .... congratulations - I think you really need to share the co-ordinates of Costis reef with @Fab1

    Cheers Zoran

He could fire me out of a sniper rifle and I still wouldn't catch anything.😂😂I just tell the mrs and everyone that will listen it's all fished out.😂😂

Yeah but once Yowie is sunk he will probably take up spear fishing and still out do the rest of us lol.

Yowie could float around on a pool floaty around LilliPilly, dunk his toes in the water and pull out a Jewie I think.

  12. When i get out im taking a sling shot so I can shoot anyone that gets to close to me with sinkers.😂If I see Yowie I'm filling his boat up with lead so he sinks too.I'm so sick of him catching all the fish.😂

  13. Tides, times, days, weeks, months, years, seasons, baits, plastics, day, night, shore, boat fishing don't matter to me.

One thing that I find 100% consistent is I'm a terrible fisherman.

One thing I know is sitting here on the couch with my line out of the water won't increase my chances of catching that whopper!!

Im past working on my own cars these days, I have two good mechanics that charge fair and do the job right. I dont mind paying a few quid to have something done, considering i had the front oil seals om the falcon motor done recently, to stop oil leaks, didnt cost as much as it was done a lot quicker than I could have done it.

so Im happy about that :D

Someone's got to keep them employed. Not me. 😂😂 Glad you've found 2 good ones.I'll keel working on my own cars until I can't fit underneath them anymore.

  16. 3 hours ago, motiondave said:

Yes but if he's telling you to get rid of what seems like a perfectly good vehicle.....I'd be questioning, well, that's me. I use to take my car to a mechanic that did a good job but his attitude was lousy, so I went somewhere else

That's exactly why he wants it.You can't find one like mine in that condition and he wants it.

No one touches anything of mine as I do all my own work mate.He just does pink slip. That's it.

One thing I know is NO ONE will do a job as good as you and take the same care you do doing it.NO ONE.

I loved my 2008 Hilux V6 Manual 4x4 dual cab, my Ranger is very close.

My mate still has his (2wd Auto) and is up to 280,000km the only thing which needed replacing was the fuel pump at 200,00km, the pump was working, just took a few revolutions to start, so the mech changed it and it starts first revolution again.

Look after them they will look after you.Wishing you many trouble free years with the Ranger mate.
