  1. Ive had my sons abused there for just asking if they caught anything. Windang is full of scum no matter what time of year.
  2. Just wondering if anyone has hit the walls recently. I know it was closed but usually by now my mate at work is talking up his catch of kings and bonnies but ive not heard of anyone getting anything recently. The black fish will mass there in about 8 weeks which is when I usually go but there seems to be zilch in the mean time. Anyone been recently?
  3. Good work I used to target them in macquarie riverlet. Biggest i got was 57 cms. Tbey taste goid if prepared right. Would have been fun in the yak thanks for the report.
  4. It should be cracking now with bonnies, salmon, frigate mack and kings but i haven't seen or heard anything which is odd for this time of year.
  5. That sux. You could have had kids on board for all those twit knew.
  6. Thanks for the replies. I wont need a licence fir a small tinnie will i? My boys would love drifting in a tinnie. Cant wait to head up now bream and blackies by day and beach by evening.may try for my first jew if i get my act together.
  7. Before i posted I did hit up the search function but wanted some specific advice for the Tea garden area. Are there any productive breakwalls, jetties or other spots to fish? I would like to spin for tailor or other pelagics if possible....alternatively I could go for a good blackfish or even bream bash. Going with my sons who usually dont join me on the local outings here in Wollongong. Any spots/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve
  8. Wow that's a good haul. Ill have to get the gear out and give them a go this weekend.
  9. I agree with the above. Its fun and family friendly plus its a rush seeing the float vanish. It started as a winter filler and has now become an addiction. I love the fight of these little demons and watching the rod bend.
  10. First is a female crimson wrasse. I agree with the above comments that they are good eating at a bigger size. Very common off reefs.
  11. There is some big fish! Good work. Young bloke looks stoked.
  12. I had some downs with my ebay flys. They do work. Good work with the flies. Look like decent fish.
  13. Also lots of mullet or tailor jumping. As soon as we threw the blackie gutz in the river there was a bust up to devour it. If I wasnt short on time I would have floated some out on the 4lb blackie set up to see what happens.
  14. Ric001 there was a largish boat that entered off that ramp near the bridge when we were there. It had no issues getting in though a 4wd was doing the backing in.
  15. Decided to hit the channel at Minnamurra this morning with a mate before the wind came in. Fished from 0700 to 0900 without a touch. Moved on into the river near the rail line and fist cast I got my 38 cm model. Fought like an absolute beast and next to the size 10 clod hopper you can get how long this one was.. The next 90 mins were odd..... we fished the tide change from out to in and landed fish on both sides. There were no downs or nibbles just thumping runs and bang we were on. We decided to keep two each which is enough for dinner. The weren't biting frequently but the fight these tanks put on made up for the time between bites. We caught them on lake weed and they had a nice bronze/purple colour that my photos dont do justice. I didnt get to blood my new Gary Howard rod this trip instead opting for my trust Wilson which I will treasure for years. Next time! P.S. just to make some squirm I had to use my Jarvis Walker egg beat to fish today. It was one of the reels that come with the 30 dollar rod and reel combo so it is obviously top notch lol. Did the trick I must say and it handled the punishment well.
  16. Watch the movie idiocracy. It explains society and the way it's heading. You did the best thing.
  17. Same. I have seen luderick and bream at one place that would have been 15 cms.
  18. saved me getting up early tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.
  19. Good on yas. We went out for 1 fish 7 bust offs and about 40 finicky downs with no hook up
  20. Thanks for sharing and a nice haul of fish. That weed may well be the weed me and my mates collected this arvo for our session tomorrow. Hope we get as lucky you did.
  21. If it were that easy there would 100 plus blackfishing reports a week. It took me a while to get it but its worth it. Boat fishing would appear more effort than its worth.
  22. what a weak piece of crap. if he was a big man like he thinks he is he wouldnt of fled like a b@@##@ Better you than me...you are smart enough to leave it alone, I would have choked him with 50 lb mono and ended up with the court case.
  23. Thanks for sharing those photos. That looked like fun and the scenery look awesome.
