  1. Slightly off topic, but came across this today! http://www.alkoiq7.com.au/
  2. For your situation most people just use the 27meg radio. Having a portable VHF doesn't hurt either. See if you can find a second hand one online.
  3. Brickman in the post above is the guy that did that job. Send him a PM
  4. I know about their good service. I've had my boat there before I was just after more info on these unit's as I haven't really done much research as yet and was just cheating to see what others know.
  5. Just looking at the two, looks like the Humminbird has extra features. Unless I am wrong. Lowrance: Fish FInder Chart Plotter Structure Scan Humminbird: Fish FInder Charplotter 360 imaging Side imaging Down imaging Is the Humminbird the way to go? Do you need more than one transducer for these? Think I remember reading you need another one for side imaging. I still think I prefer the Lowrance, just wondering if anyone knows if only one transducer is needed for structure scan.

  10. Sydney Shark Invasion - Nat Geo Wild. Yea that could be the one. They had one opposite Nieslon park, tagged a few with GPS trackers. So I think, shark hunting from now on at the Harbour.
  11. Anyone happen to see that doco last night? Nsw fisheries pulling in 3M sharks inside the harbour. And here we are looking for bream The look of the guys on kayaks and in the boat as the fisheries tagged them was awesome. So looks like we have a lot of Bull sharks in Syd all the way up to parra river. Will finish the doco tonight. Recorded it.
  12. Just go Hawkesbury and camp at Waratah bay. Nice place!
  13. How about you post up some pics of your boat, that way other member can suggest where to fit things I've had about 4 boats and have done a lot of fittings myself. Once the pics are up, will have a better idea!
  14. I can take your boat out while you do the rollers? Got my friend to take my boat out while I was doing mine, by the time I finished adjusting the trailer, she was an expert in driving the boat up the trailer!
  15. Don't know if I like it or not! Looks very transformer, lambo style which I like, but not sure of the sides are too bulky! Can't wait to see them in person!
  16. Haines Hunter have released a new model, this is the 565. Apparently someone 6'1" should be able to sleep in the cabin now. It has changed slightly from the 560 if you are familiar with it. I prefer it over the 560, but thought it would look even better. http://www.boatpoint.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?R=23994753&Silo=Stock&Vertical=Boat&Ridx=1&eapi=2 Haines Signature on the other hand have a new 650 Hardtop, looks good! Any in other news, there will be a new Nissan Navara revealed shortly
  17. You sound like me! Would hate to drill new holes. Not sure if you have thought of this but why dont you keep the 27 antenna and buy a handheld vhf?
