  1. Wow mate, you kept your first boat for 12 years! I don't think i have owned a boat longer than 2years yet! Hope the one i have now will break my record!
  2. Correct, no V Sea centre console. Maybe a typo.
  3. I am sure it would be a bit dirty. Went to roseville boat ramp last week and the water ther was a bit dirty
  4. I realised that last time i looked. Is that fairly new though?
  5. Were the Kings just in the mix of the Salmon?
  6. Yes a forester will do the job too. I used to pull a 5.5m fibreglass out of ramps with a commodore no problems. Never slipped or anything, but if you feel better with all 4, go for it. I have a prado now, love it! I personally like to have higher cars when it comes to boat ramps so a forester is good, rav4 or honda crv should do it too. If you need help Once you find a boat etc just ask.
  7. Heaps of opinions. Good point about the weight which a lot of people don't bring up often. Yes you can get max hp on a boat but might not be the best balance. I have only had 2 strokes ever. About 6-8 motors. The etec has always been fine trolling. At the moment i am running 225HP etec. That is max. But if i was to go 4S it would have to be a max 200HP suzuki 4 cyclinder. Fourstroke will have a better resale value. A lot of people get worried of etecs
  8. Hey mate! What size coast runner are you after?? Are you buying new? I wouldn't buy a first boat new just like i wouldnt get my forst car new. Same reasons, a lot to learn and experience will help. Later on get whatever you want new - also save a few $$$ Need to know size of coast runner but for your budget a holden commodore would tow it fine. I used to live in Baulkham Hills, nice place! Don't hire a trailer to practice. When you get your boat just take it to the Woolworths head office car park in bella vista and practice there. I did. I am quite often around seven hills where i keep my boat. Whenever you are ready to get yours, happy to help, guide with towing and help you launch. Can go windsor river. Nice and quite there at times.
  9. I had the venus first. Bought it by chance really and fell in love with it. Didnt know how good they were. That drove me to get the 6m Victory. Best boat i have owned so far.
  10. Damn, why didn't i go thursday!! Good stuff guys!
  11. Hi again, I would of thought it is the P319. That is what i have on my Seafarer and was one of the common ones used. I ended up keeping mine as i was in the same position as you. The new one would over hang and i didnt want that. So i have a top sounder but not using it to its full potential but i am not fussed.
  12. Hi mate, I know what it is like to have room. I started off with a 4.1m. Then friends want to come... Then they want to fish... 7 years later i have ended up with a 6m. Not suggesting that will happen to you. First thing for me was: do i need a bigger boat? Yes, then list the reasons why. Will the car i have suit too? An i worried to launch on ny own when i need to etc. I think if you have made up your mind about more space and comfort, sell yours and be patient. You don't have to buy a new one. I bought an awesome 5M boat 2 years ago with 70hrs for $15k. Was hardly used and in new condition. One of the best boats I've ever had. Good luck with it all
  13. Fortuner is still quite a solod car for your quintrex, no issue there at all.
  14. Hahaha, there are koala signs all over coffs harbour! Always wanted to see one in the wild. As i was walking back i remembered watching a doco when they growl. I did some quick research and it's pretty much the same noise i heard. I think it was a koala, but for some reason when i looked where the noise was coning from, which was quite close towards tje ground i couldn't spot him. So i thought maybe it was a feral dog behind the bushes sizing me up!
  15. I know they upgraded the one at blacksmiths on the caravan park side. I asked years ago to do one at wangi wangi. They said no! But i am sure recently i saw a document about the upgrades they were planning on doing.
  16. I enjoy exploring and taking on some adventurous tracks! I am currently at coffs harbour where i fell in love with it last time i came. I have been doing a lot of exploring, beaches, waterfalls, creeks etc. I came across a track in Bindarri National Park. One of them led to a beautiful waterfall, the other to a picnic area. The one to the picnic area was closed but you could walk it. We decided to walk it and came across a beautiful creek crossing. After taking some pics and so on we crossed over and continued the track, couple of hundred metres in we are walking and i pause and clearly hear a growl. I looked the left from where it came from, left and on the ground and couldn't see anything. Just to make sure i asked the others "did you hear that"? They all did. We pretty much turned around and backed off. Usually i am not that scared of animals. I know what you can come across, not afraid to see snakes, lizards etc. but this growl caught me off guard and have no idea what it could have been! Any ideas?
  17. Hey mate, I had one of these and yes the trigger does fail. You will squeeze it and no light will appear. Eventually it died but lasted at least 3 years for me which was good enough. I haven't been able to find an alternate just as food yet.

    New Boat

Hi mate, Not too familiar with the Haines Sequell. Is it a Haines hunter or signature? Being a 460 i would prefer at least 70HP. If you wish to fish bays, around the heads, with a mate or two then personally would go for a 5M + if possible. I have had a few boats and i think a 5m would be better. There are heaps of options to look at. Would you like a cabin or not fussed? My last two boats have been Seafarer's and i just love them so i will sound biased. But options to look into. Seafarer v sea 5m Seafarer venus 5m (same hull as above just bigger cabin) Haines hunter profish 525 Haines Sinature 493F Cruise craft is a good brand too!
  19. I always think that is the one to go to!
  20. Because im only interested in the midnight fireworks. Hoping 9pm might be a bit clear!
  21. Hey guys, Thinking of doing NYE in harbour. Roseville boat ramp: how busy is that on NYE? Say around 9pm? Meadowbank: further journey but hoping it is a little more quite? Thanks.
