the fresher the better for the jewies and once you try and thaw out frozen tailor, it just isn't the same anymore for eating or bait you'll know what i mean when you use your tailor fillets cheers

yeah, they are actually pretty good on jewies off the beach make sure you thread on heaps of worm even past the eye of the hook and through the line though using a 6/o hook works well, although I find blood worms to be better for whiting and bream it really comes down to personal preference and what works at the time once you start using them you will find what works and what doesn't for that particular area cheers

yep good info there just to add spinning lures during the day off the beach can produce tailor as well, it may worth a try when bait fails i mainly fish with bait though and i find it best when the high tide meets sunset also if the tailor aren't there, the salmon usually are especially now that its winter basically any beach will often hold tailor as long as there is a nice gutter there. Also i found that when the surf is more rough, you usually catch more as the waves/swell provide more cover hope this helps cheers

i use multiple sites and see what the general trend is for the day works better than just looking at one site although i mainly focus on weatherzone

bad luck on the rod i too have a lost a rod in the water after not paying attention to it you still got a feed which is great and good on ya for your persistence btw there is no pic to ID cheers

Braid doesn't have good abrasion resistance and is highly visible Fluorocarbon allows 99% of light to pass through it is virtually invisible in water. mono has very good abrasion resistance and stretch So using a fluorocarbon or mono leader is the way to go depending on what sort of fishing you are doing I use flouro on fussy fish and mono leader where there is more structure cheers

awesome haul there and that red thing is its swim bladder, when you bring up a fish from deep water (more than 10m) their bodies cant adjust quick enough to the change in pressure as they are brought to the surface of the water. Hahaha Yeah takes a while to get the smell out I also find that chicken thigh stays on the hook better and still catches fish Don't know if a lot of people use thigh But it may be worth trying Cheers
