  1. Enough steaks for feed an army!! What a catch, would love to have been on board when they got it
  2. We regularly go to Cairns and always at least do one Barra charter. Took the girlfriend out as she also loves fishing. Went to cast with the GF standing behind me and managed to bury both of the trebles in her calf right in past the bend! Thought that was the end of the trip but the guide did some fancy thin with a piece of sting and pulled them out one by one. She toughed it out and took the pain! We kept fishing for then rest of the day! She was definitely the largest catch of the trip! Needless to say I married her so I guess you could say I hooked a good catch...even if she won't let me forget it
  3. What a catch; I've always wanted to bag a pearlie!! Well done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

I've seen 2 in Sydney harbour over the last few months just west of the harbour bridge, they were doing surveying for a proposed new tunnel I believe. They moved around from day to day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  5. That's is absolutely awesome....I dream of catching Barra like that!!!! One day...hopefully one day!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  6. Found this interesting a few years ago the gps tagged a number of bull sharks caught in Sydney harbour. Surprised at how long one in particular stayed west of the spit bridge. http://gpscreate.com/case-studies/shark/ They're always there, just got to respect you're in their house! Never stopped me swimming either in the ocean or harbour...I just won't swim in certain places like Bantry bay as it's where they come to breed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  7. That is absolutely mental!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  8. A mate of my old mans has kept a log for the over 39 years, which is now in a spread sheet, and August/September has been the worst for him on average in Syd harbour North. He keeps quite detailed info like what he caught, what he used for bait/lure, tide, moon phase and weather. I've just started last year as I thought it was a pretty good way to start mapping what happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  9. I second nuclear chicken, a size for every type be it flats or deep; stands out like a sore thumb!! Love'em Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

  11. Nicely done!! Love eating JDs, just wish I could catch more of them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  12. If you've got a kid or two with you try Newport Arms Hotel in Newport, great family friendly pub over looking Pittwater. If you want an unreal view head up to the Altitude bar & restaurant on the 36th floor at the Shangri-La Hotel, it overlooks the harbour, bridge etc. pretty pricy but good place to stop and have a cocktail. Enjoy your trip! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  13. Awesome!!! I've seen that happen before on a fishing show, with Al Mclashin I think, when he was jewie fishing at Juno Point. I would be doing cartwheels if I pulled up a cray Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  14. Quakers is the only one I know, can't ever remember hearing about others. Pity they didn't do that 3d sea floor mapping they did in the main harbour up into the upper reaches Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  15. That is absolutely awesome! Well done boys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  16. No worries. Sometimes I wish I lived in NZ, the fishing is epic, but then I look at where I live & wouldn't want to be anywhere else. At least it's only a 3hr trip across the ditch!!When you do get to watch it let me know what you think... Can't wait to hear the expletives!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  17. Hi Stanton44, it was running on channel One for a while but haven't seen it in ages; for a while it was taking up heaps of space on my IQ box. But I'm sure you can stream/download from online. Definitely worth the watch, I've never dreamed of using 70+cm Aussie salmon (carwine) to catch monster kings. They also catch other species like snapper and sharks. If there ever was a fishing show for catching monster kings this is it!! Cheers, Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  18. NZ show big angry fish for a good watch (actually a must watch for those who like their kingly fishing), for applicable stuff iFish & big fish small boats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
