  1. Wow that's a big carp, you're doing well to hold it up one handed I reckon.... you certainly had your weetbix that day... LOLOLOLOL Cheers David.
  2. Super fish and I like your pics - nice shots.
  3. G'day mate, I use purpose built trolling sinkings. They have a swivel at one end where you attach your trace and a wire loop at the other that attaches to your snap swivel in your double. The sinkers have "wings" on the sides that enables them to plane down. These things work beautifully and I've caught great kings this way. Of course I'm yet to hook a hoodlem on one, that would test their strength I'm sure but so far so good on kings up to the 80cm mark. I hook the yakka through the bottom lip and out the top the troll them along. Works a treat and would recommend you give it a go. Cheers David.
  4. Thanks for the report Dave, may be hitting the Hacking this weekend and I like the fact there are some kings around - even if they are rats.
  5. I've often seen flying fish around headlands both trolling and when drifting around bottom bashing. They look sensational as they get out of the water and fly along... However, this is the first I've ever seen captured and have always wondered what the look like up close - really cool!
  6. Bloody Hell........ Never heard of anything like it.... Amazing and congratulations.
  7. I got an awesome telescope capable of seeing all the planets in the inner solar system, including the rings of Saturn and the Moons of Jupiter. Can't wait for the next moon phase. I'll be able to see the polar caps of Mars and Venus go through its phases... I love all that stuff and this is something I've wanted for a very long time. Yeah, I'm a bit of a nerd
  8. Howdy folks, Its been about a hundred years since I've posted a report as its been that long since I've wet a line so whatever I caught this afternoon was getting photographed and put up, so... here goes. I decided to fish the Emu Plains side of the river and walk the bank along River Rd up from the bridge. There's some nice looking territory in there and I'm sure there must be some good fish but I could only raise the micro's today. There's millions of them, they followed the lure like flies right to my feet. Anyway, walked the bank using a betts spin. I high sticked it across the top of the weed to the bank. All three fish hit the lure very close to the bank as you'd expect. Saw a very large eel swim by and also a nice water dragon didn't like the look of me and hurried into the water which was nice to see. Anyway, here's some pics of some baby bass. Might have a few more goes along there on a nice hot late afternoon when the insects are out and see if the bigger fish want to play. Cheers David.

    Movember

Yeah Sammy - I'm in this year (and last as well). I'm in it with a group of mates from work and we're approaching the $1K mark in donations. It's an extremely worthy cause and well worth supporting. I don't have a pic yet but I'll post one up when I take one. Cheers David.
  10. Wow, that's pretty awesome and a big shark!!! Looked pretty hairy when you were tracing it I had my heart in my mouth when you had the trace wrapped around you gloved hand - I thought you were going in!!!! Well done - again, awesome stuff.
  11. Hi Geoff, Sneaky mid week fish hey!!!!!! Where was my "on the water report" as I was working away!!!! Nice feed tho - well done. Could you see anything chasing the slimies???? Cheers Dave.
  12. Sincere congratulations. Fish of a lifetime and certainly fish of the month. Regards David.
  13. Mate, that's a super mullet As already said, they are very difficult to catch. I've often seen them down the lower side of the weir but never caught one. Well done.
  14. G'day Glenn, On both sides of the weir you'll get Bass and Carp regularly. Fish for Bass on spinner baits, surface lures, hard bodies, plastics - whatever you like. Fish for the Carp with Bread or Corn. Late evening into dark and very early in the morning are best. Hope that helps. Cheers David.

Just don't put it on facebook!!!! Busted chucking a sickie Actually, be careful what you say anywhere on the net about taking sickies...
  16. Just Awsome - congrats on your first Jew and an excellent specimen it is....
  17. Gee that's a great little session. Well done on some really nice Bass. Cheers David. p.s. I never walk past a bargain bin!!!
  18. Nice work mate. Sounds like the bass season has started so I better get down there. I really only use two lures down there. The betts spins with a 2inch grub before sunset and as the sun goes down switch to a kokoda bat fishing into dark. Both work really well and its so much fun. Cheers David.
  19. Another great social. They just get better. A big thanks to Donna, Stewy and of course Ross on the BBQ. Good as gold mate. Thanks to everyone who made the day possible, whether you donated something, gave a prize or won a prize. Well done. Can't wait for the next one. Cheers David and Andy.
  20. G'day Stewy, Soooooo good to see you up there. Isn't it great That rock in your 4th Pic... did you take a fish out of there?? I've got fish right in tight against it but only the the once 2 seasons ago. Never got one since. Great pics and nice fish too. See ya at the bay social. Cheers Dave.
  21. Mum used to tell me that if I spoke ill of her my tongue would wither and fall off. If you dropped a fork that meant you'd get a female visitor, a knife meant a male visitor. If you didn't want the visitor to arrive you had to step on the said piece of cutlery and that would fix it. If I put new shoes on the table I'd bring our whole house bad luck, needless to say I was NEVER allowed to put an umbrella up inside. The funny thing is, to this day I NEVER put new shoes on the table and step on any piece of cutlery I drop and I'm just terrified on umbrellas period. As said previously, I'm sure there are a million more but I just can't remember them. I'll have to ask mum! Cheers David.

    Gannet Man

OK Guys and Girls, Check this out. I'm sure some will have already seen it but I thought I'd post it cause its pretty cool. Now... I don't believe for a second that he "caught" this fish the way he describes but you be the judge. If anything, the fish was hooked, tired out and then.... well, just watch Gannet Man Video See you all at the Botany Social - its been a while. Cheers David.
  23. You bloody rippa!!!! It's been at least 8 months since I've wet a line in anger. I've probably forgotten how actually!!!! Looking forward to seeing everyone again on the day. Cheers David.
  24. G'day Hooky, Congrats mate... Cheers Motty.
