  1. It looked like that yesterday morning when I went out, got around the corner and it was lumpy as. Still got into a few flatties, hope its better tomorrow. Cheers Choicebro
  2. Hey mate, I caught a heap yesterday, just south of Jibbon Bombie at about the 30m mark. They were everywhere, at one point near impossible to get a bait down while chasing flatties. Caught them on a handline only 2-3m under the boat. Nothing big chasing them that I could see either. Might see you out there tomorrow. Cheers Choicebro
  3. Hey mate, I have a Stacer Nomad 440 tiller steer with a 40 Johnson. I fish from Port Hacking and am always fishing out the front. Even this morning I went out for a fish and ended up down off Marley. Sea was quite sloppy and certainly not the lazy 1m swell they had predicted. I reckon at times it was more like 1.6+ Anyway, if you are going to venture outside you need to be confident in your abilities to be able to respond and react accordingly should the conditions change. Having a good reliable setup is also a huge factor in remaining safe. I also prefer the tiller steer as it gives a lot of clear deck space to work with. Cheers Choicebro
  4. Well done mate, hopefully the catch stays that way... Last day of work tomorrow due to redundancy and don't start my new job until min Jan. So that means, plenty of fishing for me. With Tonkin park ramp 2 mins from home and catches like yours, you can bet I'm going to make the most of my time off. Hope to see you around. cheers Choicebro
  5. Good info guys, I had a mounting bracket like the one for my transducer mounted on the port side stern, to one day mount a LB tank pump. I did at the same time that I had an outrigger platform welded to the bow for my minnkota. Wasn't cheap but looks like standard and no drilling holes in the transom. Now I know how to set it up when I finally get around to it. Cheers Choicebro
  6. God doesn't listen to me much these days, and I am certainly not religious in anyway. However mate, if you or any one else needs any help, I'm sure that anyone here will man up and do anything that they can to assist. Cheers Choicebro
  7. Thanks Guys, let me tell you that it was sheer luck, with little or no skill involved. As Scratchie said, It sure was a hard season to pick. A big thank you to Plumb for organising it, and well done to all who took part. Cheers Choicebro
  8. Was out last Sunday, Tried Jibbon for a Squid donut. Headed around the corner towards the cliffs past the bommie drifting for a couple of flatties about 45cm. Came back in off Shelley beach in about 28m for a few drifts and picked up 4 more flatties ranging from 45-65cm . Last drift got me a Gummy shark. All in all a good day and plenty of fillets for the family and friends. Squid heads and wings locally caught and frozen for bait. Cheers Choicebro
  9. Crap, travelling for work and didn't realise there was a Thursday night game. Dammit. no picks for me this week. Oh well at least the weather looks good for a fish this weekend..lol Cheers Choicebro
  10. Thanks for the heads up mate, much appreciated as always. Will let you know when I'm going to hit the area. Cheers Choicebro
  11. Hey Filthy, Where are you launching from to get into B'bay. Been thinking of heading that way and was going to use Kurnell ramp but have heard its not too good even after the upgrade. I figured we have a similar sized boat, so your knowledge might save me some trial and error. Cheers mate Choicebro
  12. Bonnet Bay it is then. Thanks guys for the advice. Cheers Choicebro
  13. Well done mate, haven't fished the Wonni for years. Looks like i'll have to get my A into G before you fish the place dry..lol How's the ramp at Bonnet bay these days? Cheers Choicebro
  14. Hey mate, I use the Tonkin park ramp all the time as it is only 2 mins from home. Never had any problem at low tide with my Nomad 440 Cheers Choicebro
  15. Hey Filthy, Has also been my go to jig there as well. Also managed a 40cm hood on the same a while back Might try for a flick tomorrow morning if I get the time. How'd you go with your new leccy motor mate? Cheers Choicebro
  16. Hey mate, Had a look at what I had lying around and don't have anything that size. Sorry I couldn't help Cheers Choicebro
  17. Hi Mate, What are the actual dimensions? I might have something lying around in the garage. Probably not Shimano branded but might be similar size. Or, have you thought to contact Shimano locally with the dimensions and see if they can help? Cheers Choicebro
  18. Too far and too cold for me I think. Only have an open 4.4m, so no shelter. Never caught or even targeted Hairtail either. Maybe when I can get a bigger boat. Cheers Choicebro
  19. Hi Mark, I'm not sure if this is readily available in the market, I have only seen home made ones so far. A line pre tensioner to assist in spooling empty reels with new line, something simple and basic (cheap). Another thought was a tool to assist in tying knots, maybe something that could hold one tag end while winding or twisting the other? Or even something to assist in picking up Squid by hand to divert the ink squirt away from the user. Any way, just a few thoughts that probably won't amount to anything. Cheers Choicebro
  20. WOW Is it gold plated or something?? Thanks anyway mate, I'll stick with the 25L tote tank and just double up if going out wide. Cheers Choicebro
  21. Hi Huey, Serial # AU-TRX65752I506 Model # SN44NDEBMT Thanks Choicebro
  22. Hi Huey, Thanks for the reply, any idea on Stacer tank sizes and cost? Thanks Choicebro
  23. hey mate, I am also thinking of the same for my Stacer 440 Nomad. I have seen the tanks at Santmarine and wonder if I work out the best one to fit and do it myself. My reservation is that I don't want to feck it up and end up costing an arm and a leg. If anyone has advice it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Choicebro
  24. Great work Ray, Looks like you got a feed for you, the neighbour and Hutcho... Nice rig too. Cheers Choicebro
