    Members Boats.

Hi all, made a few posts now so I thought I should at least show you what I am fishing from Purchased 2nd hand on behalf from a local dealer. The story goes that the guy that originally bought it fell ill shortly after and never got to use it and it was parked up under cover. It's a 2005 Stacer Nomad Sports with a 2005 2 stroke Johnson 40hp pull start. Came with all inshore safety gear plus more. When I picked it up, I had to fill the fuel tank and I swear it had never had a drop of fuel in it. Looking at the condtion of boat and trailer, I don't think it had ever been in the water and was also told the same. Since purchase on 21/07/12 I have added the following; Electric start and charging kit, Garmin GPS/Fishfinder 555s 27 meg radio and aerial 100ah deep cycle battery 6 panel switch kit nav lights and all round light 54lb Minnkota I-pilot (yet to be fitted after pending bowrail mods) 2nd battery for starting since fitting elec starting kit On my wish list; Inboard fuel tank, thinking 70L fold down seats (fore on pedestal, aft on existing Ali seat)actually nearly completed. Electric bilge pump to replace the manual one Bait/catch tank Electric trim and tilt kit to replace the current tilt assist If you see me out, give us a wave or stop by for a chat and a bit of a yarn. Cheers, Kel
  3. Hi Carlo, From what I have found and read about if the motor is pulling to one side then you need to adjust the trim tab on the leg towards the direction it is pulling. ie if it pulls to the right, move tab to the right. This can also create some lean effect. The trim tab will generally only counter the pulling effect at the trim level that it is set for. You are asking about leaning, so I guess we need to clarify what you are asking. Leaning can be caused by an off balance in loading of the boat or in some cases boat design. Are you able to explain a bit further so we can help. Have you just replaced a motor with this one? if so is the prop rotation the same? What type of boat is it? Cheers Kel
  4. Took a trip down on Sunday to see how progress was going. Sadly I left the phone at home and didnt get any pics. Anyway, progress is looking slow with the holdup for filming scenes for the new wolverine movies I guess. The ramp looks done and there are steel pylon formworks in place for what I think will be the pylons to accomodate the floating jetty. I find it hard to believe that the project will be finished this month acording to council time projection. Good things take time they say so I and others I am sure are happy to wait. I will get down there next weekend and take some progress pics for those that are interested... Cheers Kel
  5. Grats on your trip A Dawg, Thanks again all for the replies, it really has been a long time coming. I have been fishing AU waters since moving here in 2004 and this is only the 3rd time I have been able to catch fish worthy of putting on the table. I have a good record when it comes to trapping blue swimmers back in Newcastle where I lived for the last 4 years. Sadly though I cant trap in the hacking. Still I am keen and have alot to learn... I am getting a taste now for homemade flatty in beer batter so I hope the luck continues. Tight lines to all and hopefully I can post another report soon Cheers Kel
  6. Thanks guys, and as a bonus the All Blacks just won..... :biggrin2:
  7. Decided to go for a fish today despite the breeze, westerly i think it was. Spent a couple of hours drifting in front of the entrance to Port hacking near Jibbon beach but more towards the middle of the 2 points. Not much happening and then the wind died off to virtually nothing. Right I thought, I'm going to venture a bit wider. So I set off for a new spot and stopped off of shark island, I think I was maybe a couple of hundred metres from the shore. Chucked over a rod with a pilchard tail on it, well travelled pilchard I must say this was the 3rd trip i have had with them lol... No I'm not a miser, I keep the bait frozen in a cooler and only thaw what I will use. A few bites in I got what I consider to be a monster flathed, well monster for me and certainly my PB flatty. Came in at just over 51cm. Keep in mind that I only caught my first flathead keeper last week and that only just made the limit. Ended up getting a couple more but not the size the first one was. All in all a great day. Now time for a beer and to watch the rest of the Bledisloe cup ( ps, Go the All Blacks!!) Cheers Kel
  8. Hi mate, What dimensions are you after, short and long doesn't really tell us much. Cheers Kel

Well done mate, I don't reckon I could do that in 69 hours let alone 69 minutes. Might give it a go one day, but lets just say that day is a long way off..... Cheers Kel
  10. Hi Kel, I was looking at this boat range recently and it was my first choice. I have heard good things about them as with other boats. I thought the pricing was reasonable compared to other manufacturers. I was interested in the bandit pro because I liked the center console option. I had managed to cut what I thought was a pretty good deal and was ready to place the order. Unfortunately for the dealer I stumbled across a secondhand deal I just couldnt pass up. Once I take some pics I will post about that in the members boats thread. The local dealer has a few vids on youtube if you search anglapro if that helps. Cheers Kel
  11. I might get in trouble with mods for posting a non sponsered link. But, this is from the local Sutherland council http://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/Building_Development/Council_Works_Projects/Current_Works_Projects/Bonna_Point_Boat_Ramp_Upgrade Cheers Kel
  12. I have always been told that you shouldnt use a rope that floats for an anchor rope. I can't prove why or why not, this is just something that is very common in NZ where Im from. Thinking back to my MSA course many moons ago, it was not considered safe because it may foul your own prop or others. Cheers Kel
  13. Mate, I don't reckon you'd have the same problem witht the Hobie.... So happy days... Cheers Kel
  14. Not long home from the boat show, far out there sure is some money floating at darling harbour...... So me and my work mate are mooching around both the marina and the halls and we both notice that no one is really interested in trying to sell us anything. We stop at stands, show some interest but no bites. Bit like fishing really..lol Im not sure what it was but i didnt feel a vibe at all, nothing excited me and i bought nothing. I say this because 2 weeks ago i bought a new /used stacer 440 Nomad (bought but never used) from a boat dealer in Caringbah. When i was buying gear to fit it out, everyone was saying wait till the boat show cause you'll save heaps.... Well i'm glad i didnt wait, i spent 5k ish on what i wanted to buy locally and got some pretty awesome customer service with that to boot So much for boat show specials and deals Cheers Kel
  15. Fantastic Ritchie.. Great pics too. Its awesome that you can share your love of fishing with the little fella. It's times like this that make all the hard work of the daily grind all that more special.. Cheers
  16. I remember as a kid back in NZ we used to use these to catch sprats.. They are great for catching baitfish. Cheap as too... Not sure if you can buy them here in Oz. Cheers Choicebro
  17. Thanks mate, didnt even know they were there.
  18. Beautiful fish mate, well done... I have recently relocated back to the area and the bait shop I used to go to off Parraweena Rd has shut. Where did you get the live bloodworm from?? Cheers Choicebro
  19. Hi All, Kel here, also known as Choicebro. Recently relocated by work back to Syndey(Cronulla) after spending 4 years in Newcastle NSW. Originally from the South Island of NZ, moved out here 8 yrs ago. Keen fisherman and have done a fair bit of Scuba Diving in my time, although these days it is more fishing than diving with time permitting around work travels. Currently fishing from a 12ft tinny but will be upgrading this in the next week or so. Will post a pic of the new rig once i get it so you can come and say hello. Cheers
