  1. Well dont Ebbsy, sounds like a good day.
  2. Have fun Sluggo, I hope the fish are still around.
  3. Great fish and great scenery, what a top place to fish, wilderness fishing, good report as always Lizard.
  4. Sluggo, they change everyday, if you read Jason's report today they were around North Head, yesterday it was Middle harbour, around Dobroyd.
  5. Good report Jason, sounds like you had a great day apart from the tangle problem, good to hear the salmon are still around, hopefully for some time yet.
  6. We'll get out there as soon as your'e free George, I thought it looked more like a mullet as well in that photo, if mullet were that big they'd go hard!
  7. Well done Alex, they are very picky at the moment, but morning was better for hook ups.
  8. Rob, looks good for sure, there have been plenty of good consistent reports lately, could get a little crazy on the water at times though, there were 6 - 7 boats around the same school at times, but things thinned out after awhile. Shane, I tried a few of the fly swap flies but they were very very picky today, ended up getting the two on an eye fly I tied. Tried about 6 different flies. CFD cheers
  9. Headed out into the Harbour today and it was action packed. Kings, salmon and tailor, but only mangaged to land some nice salmon, dropped quite a few. It was a perfect day, especially for flyfishing as there was only a slight breeze. Ive never seen the Harbour with so many schools everywhere, quite a few boats out early though, but still enough schools around. Fishing was hard today as the fish were very flighty and went down quick on approach, didnt get heaps, but managed a few, and I for one am very glad the salmon are still around. cheers
  10. Just back from Pt Stephens, thanks guys! Had a great time up there, mainly family stuff, but managed a couple of trips out on the tinny for some snapper and lizards, how good is it up there! I love the spot.
  11. I sent mine in as I subscribe to MF, cant go wrong for $30 and it is a promotion. Ive ordered the flick stick.
  12. Just arrived back from Port Stephens and theres my package, well done Nick and thanks to everyone for tying, cant wait to use them.
  13. Thats great, good to hear the salmon are still about, might have to get out there and give them a go. Well done!
  14. Certainly sounds like they were on, well done, even though losing a few, it must have been exciting stuff.
  15. Clutch, your'e not only a champion fisho, but a genius with this! Thanks heaps!
  16. G'day Rob, there are plenty of tailor in the lake at the moment. Late afternoon, ie dusk to nightfall, is when they all came on, lots of decent sized choppers as well, over 30 cms, Bluecod got bitten off a couple of times and one of them did a big leap in the air before biting through the line. I caught mine with a breadfly, as they were getting into the burley and the one I boated spewed up heaps of bread. So just burley up late in the arvo and you should be right, any fly or lure as they were busting up big time, I reckon they are pretty hungry as they have been cooped up in the lake for so long, feed might be getting scare. BTW, the water was at a very warm 27 degrees C, I know that sounds warm, and it certainly was. Ken, I'll send you the photo, its nothing special, just like putting up a photo with reports if possible. At my File Attachments, it says I only have "Global Space Left: 15.31l". cheers
  17. Bluecod and myself hit Narrabeen Lakes yesterday for a late arvo fish. First plan was to head up Middle Creek to try and see if the bream were keen on surface poppers yet. It was a perfect afternoon for MC with a slight breeze and the leccy doing a good job, what did I ever do without a bowmount foot controlled, they are just a great addition. We ventured up the creek, it was pretty hard going and we fished some very fishy looking snags and weedbeds for about an hour and a half. We had several missed strikes, just enough to keep us going to the next bend in the creek. We eventually headed back and just after the bridge I landed a nice little bream coming to 25 cms, nice fun on the 5 wt, re pic. The creek was very good practise for flycasting in tight space as at times the creek was only about 4-5 metres wide, so roll casting came in handy. After the creek we drifted around Pipeclay then the birdge, but only had a few hits. With the sun quickly fading we headed to the caravan park and burleyed up and there was plenty of action with some thumper mullet to 35 cms, a few bream and tailor up to 35 cms all hitting the burley. We scored about 8 nice sized mullet, a couple of bream and tailor and called it quits about 9 pm. A good arvo/night was had, plus plenty of casting practice. cheers Narra Cant seem to load the pic? Any advice? Its only saying space of 15 k, it use to be a few pics at 70 ks, has this changed?
  18. to Raiders Darcy, good report there and looking forward to more. LC sounds like it is warming up, might be worth a visit soon.
  19. Strudwick SPS 6/7 wt loaded with an intermediate line on a Shimano Ultegra...now where are those salmon?
  20. Dont worry Clutch, all those snappers youve been catching lately, there surely must be some left in the freezer for a feed. The last 2 times Iv'e been out have also resulted in donuts, but I'm not too worried, everyone has their turn in the sun.
  21. Sounds like a good arvo fish, just love those late afternoon sessions, even a couple of fish make it worth whle.
  22. Congrats on the kings guys, sounds like great fun. If the keepers of undersized fish came into Roseville to load their boats they would have met with the coppers and Maritime who were going over all boats for safety gear and inspecting catches on Sunday.
  23. Nice one Brian, that sounds like a heap of fun. Bluecod and I scored zilch in the Harbour today, apart from a few yakkas to George.
  24. G'day Phil, Iv'e never seen so much choppers as the other day, although there were some bigger ones in there. I will definitely give the sinking line a go next time. Weiry, that Morse line sounds good, but I am impressed with the Teeny that I have. If Ottos have the Morse, I might give it a test. A nice intermediate for the 10 wt would be nice. the leader set up I use vary, I find a straight through leader works well 9 kg Vanish I think it is, but lately I have been tying a 30 lb mono butt at about 1 metre long with the Vanish 1.5 metre long and it casts well. The 9 kg Vanish is fine, Iv'e caught heaps of salmon and some kings on it.
  25. Mine were sent Monday, c'mon guys I'm itching to see what goodies Santa is bringing!
