Bull sharks are the old Bronze Whalers aren't they? They also get to the upper reaches of the Georges River.

I have a 40hp Johnson on a Stacer 4.5m runabout and get cavitation when I cross a wake or when I turn when the sea gets up a bit. I have lowered the motor to the last hole which made a difference but I still get some cavitation.
I am wondering whether a Permatrim or other hydrofoil (I have seen the SE 200/300 Sport) help?

You can also put the boat in at Sussex Inlet and then drift from where the river enters the basin.
That's where we will be for 2 weeks in January!

I just run the sinker down to a swivel, have about a 1 m 12lb mono leader with a 2/0 baitholder/longshank/circle hook.

Would it be cheaper to buy a new Sienna, as how much does a service cost?

We went there a couple of years ago and found it very hard to get a feed. So did everyone else in the caravan park, even the people with permanent vans there.
If fishing is your main priority, you might be better going to a place like Sussex Inlet or Narooma.

It's a big ask for a 4 year old to use a gaff. The fish sounds like it would have been bigger than him!

I am thinking of upgrading some of my cheaper rods and was looking at the Ugly Stik Gold, but yesterday I saw some Shimano Beastmasters which seemed to be around the same price. Has anyone got any thoughts on these rods or something similar.

The steering is fixed so we are in.
We were out in the Bay today and while the fishing was slow, the weather and conditions were absolutely magnificent. The water was a little cold thought between 12.6 and 14.2 degrees.

If I can get my steering sorted Ste (14 year old son) and I will be there.

After not having used my boat for some months, mainly due to weather and broken hand issues, my steering seems to have frozen.
How can I fix this, should I just use brute force to get it moving or do I risk breaking something by doing this?

I use a 4000 size reel for my kingy outfit with 15lbs braid, 20lbs leader and it works a treat mate.
What sort/class of rod do you have that on?

Does anyone know if there are sharks in St Georges Basin?
We are going down there for a couple of weeks after Christmas and the kids want to get a doughnut.
