  1. Nice work fishingphase! A leave pass from the mrs is always good. But I don't know what looks better, the fish or the beer! maybe a combination of both! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. I have to agree with Nbdshroom. That's what I did for my 4 kids and they've lasted about 2 years. Unfortunately, it's that time again I have to revisit that store! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Lake St Clair, Lake Glenbawn, mungo brush on the Myall river heaps of options! Mungo gives you access to the lake, river and across the road is beach opposite broughton island!
  4. Nice going! I'm sure you quickly got over your "disappointment" and had the boat and gear packed in seconds, all the while thinking of your plan! Correct??? Did you get a measurement at all? It sure looks like a big flounder but to take the title it needs to be measurable. Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Good write up Steve. It must have been "take a work colleague fishing" weekend. I did the same. Unlucky on the fish front but it sounds like a few lessons were learnt. Good to see you settling in at Lake Mac as well. Only an hours drive from port mate, with no bridge to contend with! Look forward to your next report! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. It was no shark. I'd seen a few hoodies cruzin around about 5 mins earlier as I boated a small fish. This thing knew exactly where it was headed!
  7. Yeah I was at broughton in a Haines hunter with a blue binimi! It was a nice day up there! Any size to the dollies?
  8. Cheers Gerry. Are you headed up this way this year? It would be good to catch up again as it's been a while. At least there's some good fish still in close but hard to find.
  9. You didn't just say "out of the hacking for something different?". Lol. We know your the only bloke on the hacking with a moored tinny! Lol Certainly, the last 3 days have been tough going and when I see your brag mat not full, I don't feel so bad! Maybe next week, or tomorrow for the retired ones! Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Cheers yowie! I'm hoping it improves soon. Summer will come and go before you know it!
  11. I know times are tough but if you've got a boat I'm sure your doing ok! Seriously, IMO it shouldn't cause much hassle unless it blocks a drainage point. Although it won't rust out like hooks etc, I don't think it will do any damage to your hull. Let's hope it's not a costly 5cents! Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Cheers Steve. 24deg? That's marlin territory! Although the weather was good, fishing was tough up this way. Heaps and heaps of bait but no pelagics to be seen!
  13. No worries. What was the water temp at the fad? I went out about 8km to the traps but no signs of life there and water was cold.
  14. Sorry not to see this earlier but if you do a site search, you will find a wealth of information on that area. How did you go btw? Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Good idea Harold. I reckon you could put your boat to good use up here!
  16. Hey Adam, Good to hear your still about. Look me up when your up here. It would be good to catch up again!
  17. I was a bit disappointed. Kingy for sure. He knew where the structure was and it was a race to it! Beautiful day out there!
  18. G'day raiders, Just a quick report from today. Headed to broughton island early this morning after picking up some slimies at cabbage tree. They were everywhere! Water was showing only 20.1 and murky green with a bit of debrie. Hit the sisters and threw jigs for snapper and ran a livie out the back. Second drift the livie gets smoked and almost spools me as we start to chase. 5min fight all ended we he beat me to the reef. I was using a penn GT330 50lb and 80leader. Shattered. Another drift and picked up a couple of 3 kg snapper and some pannies. Trolled the traps on the way home but no dollies, water way too cold. Nice day to be on the water though! No pics, sorry phone went dead. Did anyone go out wide this weekend? Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. All done by our wonderful moderators! I think the ocean behind you is looking pretty green. Please put it up for cotm, even if a cooked fillet has some green veg with it! Lol. Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Giddy up James! What a cracking session. You are the envy of all jewfisherman, not 1 but 2 jew over the meter mark in one session. Congrats to you. I hope you take a photo with something green for catch of the month! Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Good work Stan! Parra vs penrith "the battle of west" Both finished at the bottom of the table, it maybe why the fishing is poor? Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
