  1. Thanks mate. Been a good time chasing some good fish
  2. Good to see you out and about with the old man. When it’s been a while, fish are a bonus! Yes the safety gear check! Very important part of boating that we all overlook until we need it. Thanks for the reminder on the fire extinguisher. I haven’t checked that 🤔 cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Sounds like the perfect day to me! cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Yes! And I’m getting to old to waste my time in shit fish! 🤣🤣
  5. Haha! Too many chores to do Sam 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers mate! Alway good to get someone onto a pb! 🤙
  6. Awesome Bob! Sounds like a fun trip away. That bar can put the fear in the most seasoned campaigner. You definitely did well on those bream! cheers scratchie!!!
  7. That’s some good fishing there. Thanks for posting. cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Thanks rebel 🤙 Cheers Bob. Not looking to outdo anyone. Just trying to put everyone onto the best fish I can. Thanks BN and your right. I’m trying to fish with gear that is affordable for everyone. Not so much the high end stuff that costs an arm and a leg. So on the last few trips I’ve been using the TT Black Mumba 4-7kg 702 Okuma Epixor 4000 Platypus bionic braid and fluro leader Thanks champ Haha, cheers yowie! Been a few good sessions but those Mack tuna are a pain in the a@$e!
  9. If you are looking for some confidence then I’ll jump onboard and show you! That’s bigger than my boat! Just send me a pm! 🤙
  10. Good stuff rummers. I was out Friday too but a bit south of you! Keep at it, there’s some good snapper about. Those dustings were probably Mac tuna. There’s been a million of them around. Absolute pests! Great to fight on light gear but disappointing when you think you have a brut snapper! cheers scratchie!!!
  11. G’day raiders, It’s certainly been an interesting couple of weeks for me for many reasons but I have managed to catch up with a few raiders and family members for a fish. I’ve also been fortunate to have Port Stephens bait n tackle sponsor me on my fish journey. The water has been cold and dirty but on different trips the fish are still biting especially on Good Friday where I had an epic session with my nephew (got his pb) and was back at the ramp by 830. Here’s just a few photos from those trips and all gear was supplied by Port Stephens bait n tackle! If your up this way check em out 🤙🤙🤙 Thanks for reading, cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Port Stephens bait n tackle Some awesome deals for fishraiders! Tell Al, your a member and scratchie sent ya! Guarantee you’ll be happy with your purchase 🤙🤙🤙🤙
  13. G’day raiders, Just wondering if anyone is headed up this way to do some fishing over the Easter break? If you are, I’ve organised a deal for Fishraiders with a specific local tackle store where you’ll receive a discount on anything purchased. From bait, lures, tackle, rods and reels. They even hire rods and reels if you don’t feel like bringing them with you! Send me a pm and I’ll hook you up! cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Nice bag of fish there! Unlucky on the monster hook up! That’s gotta hurt 🤬 cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Great day out on the water Pete! Considering there was a full moon and the state of the water, not to mention the amount of lost fish which was very frustrating, I think we did ok! See you soon champ! cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Just in terms of waterproof Jackets only, I use a fishing jacket from CAST! Costs about $180 delivered. Lightweight for casting and doesn’t make you sweat during the warmer rain periods. Have stood in an open boat for 8 hrs pouring rain and not a drop of water got on my clothes! Best fishing investment I’ve ever made! cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Terrible eating! Very bloody red meat and fishy fish taste! Yuk 🤮 All released btw 🤙
  18. Thanks. We both love fishing and getting away from it all. That’s what it’s about too! 100% Thanks Sam, wouldn’t say perfect! I lost a good snapper 🤣🤣 Cheers mate Not that I’ve seen Thanks yowie! Mick let me know this morning that his arms now longer. His wife is happy he can now dig into his pockets! 🤣🤣 Great news aye! We’ll give him a few more workouts to recover! Haha Cheers mate
  19. G’day raiders, Just a quick report from up here today. With all the crap weather we’ve been having, the chances of catching a few snapper on the inshore reefs were pretty low but as the title says, this trip has been 8 months in the making. So today i headed out with good mate @back cruncher Mick as he has been battling the big C for the that period of time and that was the last time we fished together. To be honest catching fish didn’t matter. I’m just glad he in remission and feeling well enough to hit the water! We collected livies pretty easy all yakkas but had enough and hit the island. Water dirty and 19 degrees. The wind was strong but consistent and we deployed a Shute to slow our drift. After the first drift it wasn’t looking good, then all of a sudden the livie goes off! Don’t look at me Mick, all yours buddy! After a good fight up comes a fair size lump of a Mack tuna. Yewwww 🤙 there’s a workout for you mate. We reset our drift and next minute we are on to a double, this time he’s got a Mack on snapper gear 🤣🤣 even better workout. We both land some our Mack’s! Then I’m onto a good snapper but pulled the hook not far from the boat 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Changed a few locations and everything went quiet. Not much bait showing up there. So we called it a morning and headed back! A great morning on the water with Mick and was so good to see a smile on his face! See ya soon champ! tight lines all, cheers scratchie!!!
  20. The rain Definitely had a devastating impact on the area. Some unforgettable images circulating. My best wishes go to all that are affected. Pretty much! The beaches are your best bet to find that ghost when they do start running
  21. With the amount of water movement they could be sitting on the shelf! At a guess, they’d be sheltering in bays somewhere. Still a while before they run! I’m no expert on mullet, just from observations!
  22. Onya Yowie! You could pull a fish out of a pothole 🤣🤣🤣 Nice bag again mate! cheers scratchie!!!
  23. Shouldn’t be too far away! I know the salmon are starting to school up. The mullet normally run mid April- mid May. cheers scratchie!!!
  24. That’s a great read BN. And congrats on a good trifecta. Bet your glad you squeezed that session in. Should be plenty of water headed your way real soon! cheers scratchie!!!
