  1. G'day Scratchie

Read a report in a mag today from a tackle shop up that way, bait on the shelf with yellowfin in the mix.

I had a 3 way hookup on fin out which all tangled, at the canyons in may 2 years ago

    Cheers Leo

Thanks Leo, I get that report weekly and I'm mates with him, but there's been nothing in numbers as yet!

I'm so keen to get amongst it, that's why I've put this post out there!

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  2. ah.. must have been a big taylor on that reddie. big bits haha

Your right! The funny thing was, I said to the mrs "this ain't a bad fish I've got here. Oh no, I dropped it"

A shame it didn't swallow the whole thing!

Btw, I did release it to try and fight another day!

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  3. G'day Scratchie,

yes we can always attribute 'our' mistake to a simple accounting error on 'our' part such that the scores were indeed even.

But if the ledger was in 'her' favour, mate, I bet she would NEVER admit ANY type of error.... :bleh:

In fact, she would rub it in for a while to all your mates, right ?

Yes......and we still would have to let it go and pretend to be all embarrased about it....

    But you know what ?

That is the best way to go about it.

When we show such humility and good nature to our other half it goes a REAL long way.

It keeps that special friendship strong between us and our better half - er, I mean 'equal' half, right ?

Ok, ok, 'she' is the 'better' half.....

    Tony

    Here here!

But I must admit, she is my good luck charm!

Every trophy fish I seem to bring on board, she's there! So I'm happy to give and take especially on a couple of bream! Lol

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  4. G'day raiders,

I really hate when the game fishing reports dry up. There hasn't been a post of a catch of anything for a while now!

    What's happening out there???

Surely the yft and bft are out there somewhere???

Do they venture up port stephens??? I haven't heard of anyone catching any up here lately! There's heaps of whales but they just don't take the bait?

    Please someone post something????

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  5. Well, looks like the fishing trip is cancelled, the :wife: wants me to fix her car, I probably should though, she told me the other day, there is a strange "sound" coming from her car which she noticed a couple of days before. I took it for a run around the block... First place where I had to come to a full halt I feel "ggrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiindddddd". Seems as though she has worn down one side of her rear brakes to the steel. Got the new pads yesterday so I should probably consider putting them on. She is not allowed to drive it until I do so the stress levels are pretty high at the moment hehehe.

So much for a day off. :mattarello:

    Luc.

Oh damn it luc, I changed my mind. Sounded good cos the wind up here is about 30knots!

Oh well maybe next time. Lol....

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  6. I have the day off work today and am wondering if anyone would like to come and have an afternoon fish for some trout in one of the dams.

I have fishraider on my phone so will check here regularly until I go in a couple of hours.

    Luc.

No, but thanks for the offer! Lol

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  7. Hi jani, I just lo love your reports. It is funny that obviously English is your second language but I understand every word you write! It makes me smile while reading and you catch some really nice fish! Keep reporting and good luck with your record!

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  8. Anyone can drop a line in the water and catch something scratch (except me) trout fishing is angling ,and it seems I can't do that either, bet it was good to get back on the boat but ?

Your not wrong on all accounts diesel.

But trout fishing reminds me of skeet shooting, where you ski miles to shoot a target! But we did the kms with nothing to aim at, no matter what angle you look at it!!! (Angling???) :)

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  9. Thanks guys! Was great fun and awesome to get back out on the boat! For all the trout fishos out the my hat goes of to you, for your patience, ability and willingness to walk a marathon!

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  10. G'day raiders,

After a fruitless weekend chasing trout with fellow raiders trout scarer and fish less again, I really needed to restore my credibility and get myself back onto some tight lines! So about 10am this morning after a quick team meeting with the wife, I convinced her that we should go out on the boat for a leisurely drive in the bay! So we cruised out to my spot, dropped anchor and baited up! (Didn't think I could throw another lure, too sore) So first drop, tap tap tap and I'm on, pulled up a nice 26cm bream!post-24974-0-23918700-1371015184_thumb.jpg released but good to see!!

Then the wife is on too, not the biggest but good to see a fish come up

    post-24974-0-16280300-1371015339_thumb.jpg

We then picked up a few chompers that went straight out on my live rods. They both got disfigured to some sort but didn't hook anything. I'm guessing larger tailor. Not even the small squire we pulled in escaped a peppering!

    post-24974-0-63654800-1371015587_thumb.jpg

Then the weather turned sour as predicted and it was time to pack up and head home. All in all, we caught 14 bream (9 for me and 5 for wife) but after further discussions we agreed it was 7 each and countless tailor. All fish were released but it was just great to see them tight lines again!

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  11. I thought I'd share the boat I do all my fishing in!

My boat like most is my pride and joy. In the last 12 months I've put in about 700 engine hours and its never let me down!

It's a Haines hunter 470 breeze 2007. I would like it to be a bit bigger, but don't tell her that! She's goes anywhere and at a rate of knots. Very reliable and easy to load and off load at the ramp!

  12. I was at parsley bay two weeks ago and the water police were there checking everyone's, boat rego, motor no. Licenses, everything!

It was great to see, especially after having a mate have his boat stolen recently. He got it back, minus everything. So it's great to see some policing of our waterways! Maybe they've been reading a few comments on raider!

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  13. That's a shame you didn't take home a feed! Definitely a long drive for zeros. If it makes you feel better, I drove from the fishing Mecca port stephens to chase trout on Sunday! I walked for about 15kms, casted probably 600 times and didn't catch a thing! I had chicken for dinner too! Lol.

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  14. Went up there today with 2 fellow raiders, diesel and Jewstalker. that was after a 5hr walk through the coxs, for no fish might I add.

We fished TCD for about 4hrs til sunset for no fish might I add again!

So now I would like to change these fellow raider alias's..........

    Jewstalker- trout scarer

Diesel- lost another lure or fishless again!

Was a great walk though, I mean a great great walk.

Give me port stephens anyday! But at least I can say I gave it a go and a big thanks to jewstalker for his patience and knowledge!

    Cheers scratchie!!!
