    I've been steadily climbing the ladder but have had a shocker this week. And no, I couldn't go past the rabbits, their on fire! But it saying that, might be a good bet to get on the sharks!

    Pretty good sesh! You battled through the weather and got results! It great going fishing with a fellow raider ay! Because you know their as addicted to fishing as your are and that makes the weather irrelevant! Well done champ!

    That rig sounds interesting. But save yourself sometime and just knock it on the head!

    Also a tip I have, when you strike for the fish when you feel the pull on the line, don't strike hard, it's more of a lift of the rod. This will result in more hook ups! Good luck!

    Hi gianniz,

    I'm local to Newy and would love to know a few spots up here for hairtail. I have a boat or landbased not fussed but I enjoy targeting them.

    If you could pm some locations would be great!

    I'm not familiar with that area, but with that water temp most fish will shut down. Did you try around the gladesville bridge? Have heard of a few Jew been pulled from there! The bait is spot on, so might have been the water or just an unlucky day for you! Try middle harbour or port stephens, the Jew are firing up this way! Good luck! Hopefully someone else can add some info.

    Hey Adam,

    Firstly where are you fishing??? And was the water really that cold at 16deg??? You won't catch jewies on the troll, not that I've ever heard of anyway! And what was the bait you were using? If you answer these questions, maybe some raiders can help you out!

    No Tying new sinkers and hooks, because of snags? or line tangled between the kids, ot they starting to pull the eyes out of the pilchards and doing other funny stuff? Mine wants to change the lure every 10 minutes: Can i fish with a floater? Can i fish with a plastic? Can I fish with a running sinker? Can i use then handline? Can I have the net, there are fish just at the front of the boat. Ohh look a jellyfish, can i have the net to catch it?

    Lol..... Them type off are children are called "bait"

    But I hear you, my 9yo wanted to take 4 mates fishing for his birthday! 2 rods lost and probably re-rigged 30 times, had to let them know we were running out of fuel and had to head home. "Sorry boys"

    doing it tough again i see scratch,you could catch a fly with chopsticks at the moment,good work champ,and another species ticked off the list :)

    Thanks diesel. It's a great spot for anything I reckon. Was worth the walk. Next time your up, if I can drag myself from my boat, I'll take you there! Maybe we can upgrade your stickfish!

    Your a legend. You always bring home a good feed and I love reading your posts. You give some really great info, except GPS marks, lol.

    I think I need to organize a trip with you at some stage. I would be willing to share my spots if you are ever up this way! I love chasing big reds and can't wait for some good weather to get out there. Those squid are massive and if you have any spare can you parcel post them to me. The jewy up here would love them!
