  1. Good lord! Mate, make the two hour drive to Nelson Bay and try casting off the breakwall. Not eels on stickbaits here! cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Great work Anthony!! I always love a report-plate story! It also makes me hungry! Well done mate cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Yep! They’ll be a few around for a while. They are going to continue the joint venture for research but I’m sure they’ll be a permanent exclusion zone in place in the near future! However, this will just increase stocks of the already array of fish there is to catch in the area!
  4. Great work Zoran! Nothing like a spur of the moment fish and you come home with a feed! Thumbs up! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Definitely a lot of sunburn for one flatty! But it happens! At least you were out doing what you love best! Hopefully you weren’t dehydrated out there??? ? cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Might not have caught any fish but we did run into this big fella......
  7. Thanks heaps. Might give that a go in the morning. Good tides! Just got back. Later start than I expected. Cast for an hour with only one taker that popped off! It was a nice walk though!
  8. Welcome to fishraider tommo! Unlucky on the fish but a good reminder there about the flares! I got mine 3 weeks ago. The old ones were out by two months and I forgot too! Look forward to your reports, cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Thanks guys! Yep feeling rather lazy. I’ll give it a go in the morning!
  10. Looking for a beach, to just walk and cast!
  11. Hey raiders, I’m currently up at Coffs, mainly for 3 of my kids competing in state cup for oztag. However, I think i can get out early morning for a spin off a beach somewhere! Just wonderong if anyone had any recommendations. I’m staying at Korora. Don’t want to travel too far which will waste time. I will only get about an hour or two each morning! Thanks in advance, cheers scratchie!!!
  12. I did post a warning of extended exclusion zone! The carpark was red hot yesterday! Heard of even one boat landing 10. There ON!!!!
  13. I’m no ID expert. That’s blackfish and/or rick! Pretty little thing though! All I know is the fillets off that wouldn’t feed anyone!
  14. Easy mate! An elastic band through a 4oz sinker attached to your swivel or mainline! ?
  15. Haha! You went with the balloon. I rigged mine deep. (Two kings) Probably the little hammerhead that was cruising around!
  16. Yeah I did. The VanessaS. I know the previous capt. He now operates a charter out of Darwin! Top bloke.
  17. Just received information that a further closure in place until 28/2
  18. And the boat is called the south seas ran by capt Paul.
  19. Hey peter, here’s my snapper from yesterday....... Sorry, it was an after thought!!!
  20. Nice!!!! Just to remind the mrs why you go fishing!
  21. Happy birthday BN!!! Hope your having a great day!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Always! Preferably at the 10 or 2 o’clock angle. When fishing for snapper I actually impart very little action on the lure too! It’s more about the waft and choosing the right jig and weight for the area your fishing to keep it in the strike zone! All my snapper fishing is done with sps with the exception of yesterday but even then I still caught two and the biggest was on sps!
  23. Haha! But your not far from the truth! I’m hearing that the nets have been torn apart by our local white pointer population! That is the rumour going around up here, but I was there first hand the next day and there was clearly massive visible damage done to the pens!
